Tetrofosmin is a phosphor-organic compound, belonging to the group of diphosphines. Tetrofosmin is used as a component of a Technetium (99mTc) tetrofosmin complex. Due to the relatively short half-life of Tc99m (6 hours), just before the administration, the solution of tetrofosmin should be reconstituted with Tc99m pertechnetate to form a complex of Tc99m Tetrofosmin. When administered intravenously, Tc99m Tetrofosmin shows rapid myocardial uptake and its distribution follows a linear relationship with coronary blood flow. It is taken up by the mitochondria of myocardial cells by passive diffusion and appears to accumulate in viable myocardial tissue. Tc99m Tetrofosmin is used as a diagnostic agent used to assess areas of reversible myocardial ischemia in the presence or absence of infracted myocardium and is also used to assess ventricular function.

Betiatide (CAS 103725-47-9; aka S-benzoylmercapto¬acetyltriglycine or 2-[[2-[[2-[(2-benzoylsulfanylacetyl)¬amino]¬acetyl]¬amino]¬acetyl]¬amino] acetic acid) is the API in TechneScan MAG3™; a kit for the preparation of technetium Tc 99m mertiatide. It is used in the diagnosis of congenital and acquired abnormalities, renal failure, urinary tract obstruction and calculi. Furthermore it is used in providing renal function, split function, renal angiograms and renogram curves for whole kidney and renal cortex. Betiatide is light sensitive and must be protected as such.

Mebrofenin is a chelating component which, when attached to Technetium TC-99M, forms a diagnostic drug marketed under the name Choletec. Choletec is approved by FDA as a hepatobiliary imaging agent.
Phenolsulfonphthalein (Phenol red) is a pH indicator frequently used in cell biology laboratories. In medicine phenolsulfonphthalein is used as a test to help diagnose problems or disease of the kidneys. This test determines how well the kidneys are working. The test is based on the fact that phenol red is excreted almost entirely in the urine. Phenol red solution is administered intravenously, the urine produced is collected. By measuring the amount of phenol red excreted colorimetrically, kidney function can be determined. Phenolsulfonphthalein has being shown to be a mild estrogenic stimulus. Phenolsulfonphthalein as Phenol red thread test is used to diagnose dry eyes syndrome.

Menbutone is a choleretic compound which is used in veterinary medicine at a dose rate up to 10 mg/kg bw by parenteral (intravenous or intramuscular) route in bovine, ovine, caprine, porcine, and equine species. Menbutone stimulates the digestive tract by increasing excretion of bile, gastric acid, and pancreatic juices by two to five times baseline. It is marketed for veterinary use in Europe under several brand names.

Etifenin is a diagnostic radiopharmaceutical for the liver function assessment. It is used for hepatobiliary function scintigraphy where there is the following suspicion: Acute cholecystitis; Chronic gall duct changes; Occlusion of ductus choledochus; Congenital aberrances of the gall duct system such as atresia; Provision of evidence of bile leak; For differential diagnosis of intrahepatic growth (suspicion of focal nodular hyperplasia versus suspicion of liver cell cancer). The diagnostic significance in liver cancer is rather marginal compared to other imaging procedures. No information on adverse reactions after intravenous injection of the ready-to-use solution is available.
