Tetrandrine, isolated from the root of Stephania tetrandra S Moore, is a traditional Chinese clinical agent for silicosis, autoimmune disorders, inflammatory pulmonary diseases, cardiovascular diseases and hypertension. Tetrandrine is a potent MDR-reversing agent and is an ABCB1/ABCC1 inhibitor. Tetrandrine (CBT-1) is being developed by CBA Pharma, as an adjunctive therapy to chemotherapy in various cancer types with multiple drug resistance (MDR), including acute myelogenous leukemia , Breast, Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease, Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer, Multiple Myeloma, Gallbladder, Pancreatic, Gastrointestinal Tract, Small Cell Lung Cancer, Bladder, Head & Neck, and Sarcoma.
Suplatast is a novel immunomodulator that can adjust the imbalance in the Th1/Th2 immune response and shows clear clinical efficacy against bronchial asthma (BA). Suplatast tosilate helps to suppress the production of IgE, to block the production of cytokines and to suppress allergy-related eosinophils. Clinical studies on the efficacy of Suplatast were carried out in Japan. Suplatast showed adequate efficacy for the treatment of BA, allergic rhinitis and atopic dermatitis. Suplatast is now available for the management of BA as a controller of the Th2-dependent allergic inflammation. Suplatast tosilate is not approved in the United States, but is available in Japan as Tosilart® and IPD Capsules®. IPD-1151T (suplatast tosilate) was originated by Taiho and is being developed for the treatment of interstitial cystitis and chronic non-bacterial prostatitis as additional indications. IPD-1151T treatment for 1 year resulted in a significantly increased bladder capacity and decreased symptoms, such as urinary urgency, frequency and lower abdominal pain, in patients with nonulcerative interstitial cystitis.
Pimethixene is an antihistamine exerting sedative and antitussive properties. Pimethixene displayed high affinity to serotonin 5-HT2A and 2B, histamine H1 and muscarinic acetylcholine M2 receptors. Oral pimethixene used to calm dry cough and irritation coughs in children.

Tetramisole is a racemic mixture of levamisole and its enantiomer dexamisole, which is a specific inhibitor of tissue non-specific alkaline phosphatase (TNAP). This drug is used in veterinary to treat of ascariasis and other worm infections e.g hook-"ms. And also is used as an immunostimulant (in that case it is used for longer periods of time).

Cridanimod (Virexxa) is a small-molecule immunomodulator and interferon inducer, which, in preliminary studies, has been shown to increase progesterone receptor expression in endometrial tissue. Restoration of progesterone receptor expression may re-sensitize endometrial tumor tissue to progestin therapy in previously unresponsive tumors. Cridanimod was originally developed by Polysan and Pharmsynthez and licensed to Xenetic Biosciences. Virexxa is currently being studied in an ongoing Phase 2 multi-national study in conjunction with progestin therapy for the treatment of endometrial cancer in women with the recurrent or persistent disease who have failed progestin monotherapy.

Chloropyramine is an antagonist of H1 histamine receptors. It is indicated for the treatment of various forms of allergic reactions. Chloropyramine is a drug capable of (1) inhibiting the biochemical function of VEGFR-3 and FAK, (2) inhibiting proliferation of a diverse set of cancer cell types in vitro, and (3) reducing tumor growth in vivo.
