Palmitoleic acid, commonly known as omega-7, is a rare monounsatured fatty acid, which was generally reported to benefit the skin in promoting epithelialisation, and certain gynaecological problems (vaginal mycoses). Until now, sea buckthorn (Hippophae rhamnoides), a shrub widely found in Europe and Asia, and macadamia nuts have been the principal sources. Palmitoleic acid (PMA) has anti-inflammatory and antidiabetic activities. Palmitoleic acid is a gap junction uncoupler.

Stevioside is an ent-kaurene type diterpenoid glycoside isolated from leaves of Stevia rebaudiana (Bertoni) Bertoni, a perennial herb of the asteraceae (compositae) family. Stevioside and related compounds are responsible for the sweet taste of Stevia leaves. Stevioside is an intense sweetener and the extract of its source (S. rebaudiana) finds extensive use in countries like Japan, China, Russia, Korea, Paraguay, Argentina, Indonesia, Malaysia, Australia, New Zealand, South America, and others, to sweeten local teas, medicines, food, and beverages. Stevia leaves are also in use for their medicinal benefits in hypertension, obesity, topical dressing for wounds, and other skin disorders. Oral stevioside is not taken up by the human body (or the uptake is extremely low) and none of the digestive enzymes from the gastro-intestinal tract of different animals and human body are able to degrade stevioside into steviol. A number of studies have suggested that, beside sweetness, stevioside along with related compounds, which include rebaudioside A, steviol and isosteviol may also offer therapeutic benefits, as they have anti-hyperglycemic, anti-hypertensive, anti-inflammatory, anti-tumor, anti-diarrheal, diuretic, and immunomodulatory actions.

Gamma-cyclodextrin is cycloamylose composed of eight alpha-(1-4) linked D-glucopyranose units and is formed by bacterial digestion of starch. Gamma-cyclodextrin is a hydrophilic molecule that does not readily permeate biological membranes and is rapidly digested by bacteria in the gastrointestinal tract. In humans, it is metabolized by α-amylase that is found in, for example, saliva, bile fluid, and tears. Gamma-cyclodextrin is generally recognized as safe by the FDA. It is used in bread spreads, frozen dairy desserts, ready-to-eat dairy desserts, desserts prepared from dry mixes, fruit fillings, cheese, and cream fillings, and chewing gum as a stabilizer, emulsifier, carrier and formulation aid at varying levels.

Behenic acid is a saturated fatty acid that is derived from the oil extracts of plants and used as a component of conditioning agents. Behenic acid is also a part of a novel complex of lipophilic ingredients developed for the treatment of dry skin. The properties of behenic acid were studied in comparison to others fatty acids and it was found that behenic acid does not inhibit the UDP-glucuronosyltransferase (UGT) 1A1 enzyme. The high levels of behenic acid in patients with low-grade glial tumors is an important indicator of the persistence of tissue integrity and tissue resistance. Therefore, behenic acid levels can be a prognostic factor in glial tumors.
