Magnesium isoglycyrrhizinate is a magnesium salt form of isoglycyrrhizinate, a derivative of glycyrrhizic acid extracted from the roots of the plant Glycyrrhiza glabra. Magnesium isoglycyrrhizinate has anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and hepatoprotective activities. The drug is believed to be a free radical scavenger and to modulate the activity of hepatic enzymes. Magnesium isoglycyrrhizinate was investigated in clinical trials to restore hepatic impairments caused by chemotherapy drugs and as a treatment of chronic liver diseases.

Mebeverine is an antispasmodic with a direct action on the smooth muscle of the gastrointestinal tract. The exact mechanism of action is not known, but multiple mechanisms, such as a decrease in ion channel permeabilities, blockade of noradrenaline reuptake, a local anesthetic effects, as well as weak anti-muscarinic and phosphodiesterase inhibitory effect might contribute to the local effects of Mebeverine. This medicine is used to treat symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and similar problems such as chronic irritable colon, spastic constipation, mucous colitis and spastic colitis. Most people will not have problems with Mebeverine, but some may get some side effects, such as: difficulty in breathing, swelling of face, neck, tongue or throat, skin rash, red itchy skin.

Bucolome (Paramidine) is a barbiturate derivative. It is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug, which is used in the treatment of chronic articular rheumatism. It has been used as a uricosuric and/or anti-inflammatory agent in Japan since 1967. Bucolome acts as a CYP2C9 inhibitor and reduces the metabolism of several commonly used drugs, which makes it useful for potentiating or extending the duration of action of those drugs, or reducing the production of unwanted metabolites.

Hematoporphyrin (Photodyn), a porphyrin prepared from hemin, is used as a photosensitizer in photodynamic therapy. Photodynamic therapy is based on the use of light-sensitive photosensitizers. Photoactivation causes the formation of singlet oxygen, which produces peroxidative reactions that can cause cell damage and death. Hematoporphyrin was used as the therapeutic agent in patients with manic-depressive reactions and in patients with involutional melancholia. One of the last studies has shown, that Hematoporphyrin-Photodynamic therapy (PDT) combined with stent placement is an effective and safe treatment for extrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (EHCC).
