Zinc Ascorbate can be used as a dietary supplement and as a nutrient. Zinc is an important antioxidant nutrient. It is necessary for protein synthesis, wound healing, for blood stability, normal tissue function, and aids in the digestion and metabolism of phosphorus. It also governs the contractility of muscles and maintains the body’s alkaline balance. Piperine is a simple and pungent alkaloid found in the seeds of black pepper (Piper nigrum). Following its isolation and full characterization, the biological properties of piperine have been extensively studied, and piperine-like derivatives have shown an interesting range of pharmacological activities. Piperine is currently paving its way to become a privileged scaffold for the development of bioactive compounds with therapeutic application in multiple human diseases. In particular, piperine derivatives were shown to modulate the activity of several targets related to neurological disorders, including epilepsy, Parkinson's disease, depression and pain related disorders. Moreover, the efflux pump inhibitory ability of piperine and its analogues tackles important drug resistance mechanisms and may improve the clinical efficacy of antibiotic and anticancer drugs. Piperine has been found to have immunomodulatory, anti-oxidant, anti-asthmatic, anti-carcinogenic, anti-inflammatory, anti-ulcer, and anti-amoebic properties.

Alanyl-glutamine is a widely used alternative supplement to L-glutamine in the production of biopharmaceuticals. The primary advantage of using L-alanyl-glutamine in place of L-glutamine is that it reduces the level of ammonia generated during cell culture. L-alanyl glutamine also acts as an antioxidant (peroxide) and anti-apoptosis (LPS-induced) factor. Ala-Glu may be used in cell culture and insect cell culture applications. It can be used in studies on injury and sepsis, and in the effects of irradiation on leucine and protein metabolism in vivo. Astaxanthin (ATX), a red-orange carotenoid that originates the pink or red color of salmon, trout, lobster, shrimp, and other sea organisms, exhibits antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and antiapoptotic effects. Guanosine is an endogenous guanine nucleoside. Guanosine was shown to be protective in several in vitro and/or in vivo experimental models of central nervous system (CNS) diseases including ischemic stroke, Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, spinal cord injury, nociception, and depression. The mechanisms underlying the neurobiological properties of guanosine seem to involve the activation of several intracellular signaling pathways and a close interaction with the adenosinergic system, with a consequent stimulation of neuroprotective and regenerative processes in the CNS. Several guanosine analogues, i.e. acyclovir (and its oral prodrug valaciclovir), penciclovir (in its oral prodrug form, famciclovir) and ganciclovir, are widely used for the treatment of herpesvirus (i.e. HSV-1, HSV-2, VZV and HCMV) infections.
Zingerone is one of the active phenolic components isolated from Zingiber officinale. Zingerone is primarily present in dry ginger, but cooking or drying also converts gingerol into zingerone by a retroaldol reaction. Chemically synthesized zingerone is vanillyl acetone, which is a member of the phenolic alkanone group, and its varied pharmacological properties include antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and anticancer activities. Thus, zingeroneshowed strong anti-angiogenic activity via the inhibition of MMP-2 and MMP-9 during tumor progression. Zingerone was likely to be broad-spectrum anti-inflammatory agents in most organs that suppressed the activation of NF-κB, the production of IL-1β, and the infiltration of inflammatory cells in mice. Zingerone effectively inhibits 1,2-dimethylhydrazine-induced colon carcinogenesis in male Wistar rats. Zingerone possess radioprotective effects in laboratory animals and in cultured cells in vitro. Zingerone produced marked improvement in stress induced irritable bowel disorder, which could be attributed to the powerful antioxidant nature, direct effect on the intestinal smooth muscle and adaptogenic nature. Analysis of the qualities that constituted zingerone irritation found that the sensations produced are predominantly burning and warmth, making it qualitatively similar to capsaicin.
Diosmetin is the aglycone of the flavonoid glycoside diosmin, which occurs naturally in citrus fruits. Diosmetin is found in the legume Acacia farnesiana Wild and Olea europaea L. leaves. Diosmin is hydrolyzed to its aglycone diosmetin by intestinal microflora enzymes before its absorption into the body. Pharmacologically, diosmetin is reported to exhibit anticancer, antimicrobial, antioxidant, oestrogenic and anti-inflammatory activities. Diosmetin increased inhibitory GSK-3beta phosphorylation, while selectively reducing gamma-secretase activity, Abetta generation, tau hyperphosphorylation and pro-inflammatory activation of microglia in vitro, without altering Notch processing. Therefore, diosmetin could be considered as potential candidate for novel anti- Alzheimer's disease therapy. Diosmetin is ER-beta agonist and potential novel drug for the acute myeloid leukemia treatment.

NADIDE (NAD+) is a coenzyme composed of ribosylnicotinamide 5'-diphosphate coupled to adenosine 5'-phosphate by pyrophosphate linkage. NADIDE was marketed under the brand name Enada. Ethyl linoleate (ELA) is an essential fatty acid used in many cosmetics for its anti-inflammatory properties. It inhibits the action of the reactive species of oxygen released by neutrophils due to an excess of bacteria, and prevents the hyperkeratinization induced by a lack of linoleic acid. Though there are few reports stating the antiinflammatory activity of ELA, the mechanism by which ELA exhibits anti-inflammatory activity remains unclear. An aqueous emulsion of ethyl linoleate can be used as parenteral injection for curring ailments where a high plasma-cholesterol level of the blood is indicated. Improvements in liver function tests during the administration of ELA were noticed in almost all cases with a few aggravated exceptions. The administration of ELA can expect the satisfactory response to the patients both with liver cirrhosis and with chronic hepatitis.
