Acetyltriethyl citrate (ATEC, Acetyl Triethyl Citrate) is a water-soluble plasticizer used in pharmaceutical plasticized polymers. It is an aliphatic ester of citric acid which is a clear oily liquid with essentially no odor. In pharmaceutical polymers, ATEC is used as a hydrophilic plasticizer in the coating of press-coated. tablets that are composed of hydroxypropyl methylcellulose acetate succinate or enteric polymer films consisting of polymethacrylic acid methylmethacrylate. ATEC is also used in protein films composed of whey protein or sunflower protein for buccal and sublingual films or particulate systems. Acetyl Triethyl Citrate and Acetyl Tributyl Citrate are used in nail products at concentrations up to 7%. In a guinea pig maximization test, Acetyl Triethyl Citrate was a sensitizer whereas Acetyl Tributyl Citrate was not. Limited clinical testing of Acetyl Triethyl Citrate and Acetyl Tributyl Citrate was negative for both skin irritation and sensitization. Physiologic effects noted with intravenous delivery of Acetyl Triethyl Citrate or Acetyl Tributyl Citrate include dose-related decreases in blood pressure and intestinal muscular spasms.

Triethyl citrate is a triester of ethyl alcohol and citric acid. It is a colorless, odorless liquid used as a food additive (E number E1505) to stabilize foams, especially as whipping aid for egg white. Triethyl citrate is a plasticizer, that plays an important role as a dispersing aid in the processing of polylactic acid/chitin nanocrystal (PLA/ChNC) nanocomposites.
Butetamate is a cough suppressant. It exerts antispasmodic, bronchodilator and anticholinergic properties.

Erbium-169 citrate is anti-inflammatory and antirheumatic radiopharmaceutical agent. Erbium-169 decays with half-life 9.4 days by the emission of beta particle and very low energy gamma radiation. The average radiation penetration is 0.3 mm in the soft tissues and 0.2 mm in the cartilage. Colloid Er-169 is used in radiosynovectomy on rheumatoid arthritis patients whose condition is resistant to standard methods of treatment. During this procedure, colloid erbium-169 citrate is directly injected into the synovial cavity of the affected joint. The data indicate that after intra-articular injection, radioactive colloid particles are picked up by superficial synovial cells. Under the effect of irradiation, necrosis of the superficial synovial layer takes place, followed by phagocytosis of the necrotic tissue and delineated inflammatory flare. This temporarily halts synovitis and improves synovial joint function.
8-Hydroxyquinoline is is a heterocyclic phenol, exhibiting antiseptic, disinfectant and pesticide properties. It is used to prevent and treat vaginal bacterial infections, but the efficacy was not proven in clinical trial. 8-Hydroxyquinoline is used in over-the-counter remedies for diaper rash and oral health care. Its use for veterinary treatment of bacterial an skin infections is not approved by FDA. 8-Hydroxyquinoline acts by inhibition of RNA synthesis and DNA replication by chelating the dissociable cations Mn2+ and Mg2+.

Oxolamine under brand names Symphocal, Perebron is used in some countries as a cough suppressant for the treatment of pharyngitis, tracheitis, bronchitis, bronchiectasis, pertussis. Oxolamine possesses anti-inflammatory activity, which causes a reduction in the irritation of the nervous receptors of the respiratory tract.

Potassium magnesium citrate has being proven to be an effective prophylaxis against recurrent calcium oxalate nephrolithiasis. Liquid potassium magnesium citrate has being studied in clinical trial for controlling Hypertension. Provision of alkali as potassium-magnesium citrate is an effective countermeasure for the increased risk of renal stone disease associated with immobilization. Despite an increase in urine calcium concentration, the relative saturation of calcium oxalate decreased due to citrate chelation of calcium and the concentration of undissociated uric acid decreased due to the significant increase in urine pH. Potassium magnesium citrate is a nutritional supplement that fights kidney stones in three different ways. The potassium provided by the supplement raises the pH of the urine, making it more alkaline, thus reducing the amount of calcium that the urine can dissolve. When there is less calcium in the urine, fewer calcium kidney stones can form. The magnesium in the supplement reduces the amount of calcium the kidneys pump out of the body and into the urine. And the citrate in the supplement keeps oxalates dissolved in the urine so they are flushed away before they can form kidney stones.
