Boscalid is a new pesticide belonging to the class of oxathiin fungicides, also known as
carboxamide, carboxin or (carbox) anilide fungicides. U.S. EPA has designated the proposed
uses of boscalid as “reduced risk.” Boscalid works by inhibiting mitrochondial respiration and
subsequent production of ATP in fungal cells. Boscalid has a new mode of action and is
effective against pathogens resistant to other fungicides, including those resistant to sterol
inhibitors, dicarboximides, benzimidazoles, anilinopyrimidines, phenylamides and strobilurins.

12-aminododecanoic acid is used in industrial applications as a monomer for the manufacture of polyamide, polymers, thermoplastics, intermediate in the production of glue. 12-aminododecanoic acid has being used as a tether to crosslink interfacial peptides in the process of identification of potent HIV-1 protease dimerization inhibitors. 12-Aminododecanoic acid is also used in the laboratory as a reagent. Its main industrial use is as monomer or reactant. 12-Aminododecanoic acid is not known to cause remarkable adverse human health or environmental effects, but after repeated oral ingestion in rats, it showed adverse effects for kidney and hematological and blood chemical changes in the higher doses tested.

Cefprozil, an oral cephalosporin antibiotic, is a mixture of antibiotic BMY-28100 (Z- or cis-isomer) and antibiotic BMY-28167 (E- or trans -isomer), the mixture having a Z- to E- isomer ratio in the range of 89:11 to 94:6. BMY-28167 (E- or trans -isomer) is less active when compared with BMY-28100 or isomeric mixture. There were no remarkable differences in the toxicity of the cis isomer, the trans isomer, or cefprozil (the isomeric mixture).

Mabuterol is a long acting βeta 2-adrenergic agonist which stimulates adenylyl cyclase activity and the closing of calcium channels. Studies indicate that the R enantiomer of mabuterol is more potent than the S enantiomer. In addition, the half-life is longer in the R enantiomer than the S. Studies conducted on rats and dogs show that mabuterol acts as a bronchodilator. At high concentrations mabuterol can also antagonize beta1 adrenoceptors in guinea pigs

(+)-Fenchone, a bicyclic monoterpene, is widely distributed in plants and found in essential oils from Foeniculum vulgare. This component has camphoraceous fragrance. (+)-Fenchone is used as a food flavour and in perfumes. Although, there are report that (+)-fenchone has toxic. P450 enzymes are shown to detoxify and/or toxify these compounds to metabolites more polar and sometimes more reactive metabolites. (+)-fenchone are oxidized to 6-endo-hydroxyfenchone, 6-exo-hydroxyfenchone and 10-hydroxyfenchone derivatives in human liver microsomes. CYP2A6 is suggested to be a principal enzyme in catalyzing (+)-fenchone 6-exo and 6-endo hydroxylation by human liver microsomes. 10-Hydroxylation of (+)-fenchone is also metabolized by CYP2B6.
