Chlorindanol is an antiseptic agent which is rapidly leathal to vegetative bacteria (Trichophyton sp., C. albicans, E. histolytica cysts and trophozoites, T. vaginalis) and seprmatozoa in vitro. It is one of two active ingredients in a spermicidal contraceptive aerosol cream (Lanettes); with the other being laureth-9.

Norethynodrel is a steroidal progestin of the 19-nortestosterone group and an isomer of norethisterone. Norethynodrel is a progesteron agonist with very weak estrogenic activiry. Noretynodrel was introduced in 1957 in Enovid, a combination formulation of noretynodrel and mestranol, for the treatment of gynecological and menstrual disorders.A few years later, in May 1960, Enovid was also approved as the first oral contraceptive.

Gestodene (17alpa-ethynyl-13beta-ethyl-17beta-hydroxy-4,15-gonadien-3-one) is the most potent synthetic progestin currently available and it is widely used as a fertility regulating agent in a number of contraceptive formulations because of its high effectiveness, safety and acceptability. Products containing gestoden include Meliane, which contains 20 ug of ethinylestradiol and 75 ug of gestodene; and Gynera, which contains 30 ug of ethinylestradiol and 75 ug of gestodene. Gestodene is androgenically neutral, meaning that contraceptive pills containing gestodene do not exhibit the androgenic side effects (e.g. acne, hirsutism, weight gain) often associated with second-generation contraceptive pills. Gestodene displays a high binding affinity to the progesterone receptor, also binds to adrogen and glucocorticoid receptors but no measurable affinity for the estrogen receptor.

For people with MTHFR gene variations, supplementing with the already activated form of folate (5-MTHF/5- METHYLTETRAHYDROFOLATE/LEVOMEFOLIC ACID) is far more effective in providing this form of folate than introducing the pre-converted form to the body through typical folate supplements. L-Methylfolate (5-MTHF) supplements provide the active form of folate naturally present in the body and available for biological action. 5-MTHF—the “active” form of folate that is able to pass the blood brain barrier. However, without a properly functioning methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase, MTHFR this conversion cannot take place and folate is not converted to forms that can cross the blood brain barrier. That is where 5-MTHF supplements come in. Levomefolate calcium is structurally identical to L-5-methyltetrahydrofolate (L-5-methyl-THF), a metabolite of vitamin B9. Mean baseline concentrations of about 15 nmol/L are reached in populations without folate food fortification under normal nutritional conditions. Orally administered levomefolate calcium is absorbed and is incorporated into the body folate pool. Peak plasma concentrations of about 50 nmol/L above baseline are reached within 0.5 – 1.5 hours after single oral administration of 0.451 mg levomefolate calcium. Steady state conditions for total folate in plasma after intake of 0.451 mg levomefolate calcium. In red blood cells, achievement of steady state is delayed due to the long lifespan of red blood cells of about 120 days. Levomefolate calcium is a part of contraceptive tablets: SAFYRA. Safyral is an estrogen/progestin COC (Combined Oral Contraceptive) containing a folate, indicated for use by women to: prevent pregnancy and raise folate levels in women who choose to use an oral contraceptive for contraception. COCs lower the risk of becoming pregnant primarily by suppressing ovulation. Other possible mechanisms may include cervical mucus changes that inhibit sperm penetration and endometrial changes that reduce the likelihood of implantation.

Doconexent (Docosahexaenoic acid, DHA) is an omega-3 fatty acid that is a primary structural component of the human brain, cerebral cortex, skin, and retina. DHA is widely used as a food supplement, and is beleived to support healthy brain development in young childred, prevent cardiovascular disease and cognitive decline during Alzheimer's disease. Most of these claims, however, were not supported by clinical trials. DHA spray is used as a tanner.

Myristalkonium is used as spermicide in vaginal contraceptives. It has antiseptic properties also. Breastfeeding women might use it because it does not pass into maternal milk. Absorbed only on the surface of the walls of the vagina and then return to normal physiological droppings or eliminates simple washing with water. Adverse effects are: burning, itch, contact dermatitis. Any drug, introduced into the vagina, can inactivate the local spermicidal action of Myristalkonium.

Levormeloxifene (INN) is an experimental selective estrogen receptor modulator (SERM) that was being developed as an alternative to estrogen replacement therapy for the treatment and prevention of postmenopausal bone loss. Levormeloxifene is the levorotatory enantiomer of non-hormonal, non-steroidal oral contraceptive -- ormeloxifene (trade names Novex-DS, Centron, and Sevista). The development of Levormeloxifene was stopped because of a high incidence of gynecologic adverse events during clinical trials.
