Iodohippuric acid I-125 (I-I25 Hippuran) is radioisotope that was used as a renogram probe in nefhrography in 1960s-1970s. It is an analog of I-131 labeled I(131) hippuran which has been recognized as the radiopharmaceutical standard for the measurement of effective renal plasma flow in subjects with renal failure but which use has been compromised by the suboptimal imaging characteristics of the 364-keV photon of 131I and the delivery of relatively high radiation doses to kidneys and thyroid in patients with impaired renal function. It was shown that radiation risk was rendered to a minimum with the use of the "cocktail" of 169U-EDTA and 125I-hippuran.

FLORILGLUTAMIC ACID F-18 is a radioactive L-glutamate derivative and a tumor-specific positron emission tomography (PET) tracer. Orphan designation (EU/3/16/1632) was granted by the European Commission to Piramal Imaging GmbH, Germany, for FLORILGLUTAMIC ACID F-18 for the diagnosis of hepatocellular carcinoma. Currently, it is in phase II trial as a PET tracer in early lung cancer in patients with lung nodules.

Z-Chlorogenic acid better known as cis-5-caffeoylquinic acid is a cinnamate ester formed by condensation fo the carboxy group of cis-caffeic acid with the 5-hydroxy group of (+)-quinic acid. It is a naturally occurring isomer of Chlorogenic acid and can be extracted from Nerium indicum flowers, coffee plant, Purpurascen leaves, Artemisia pectinata, and tobacco. In some but not all extractions cis-5caffeoylquinic content is increased after UV exposure of plant or cells.

Antineoplaston A10 is a piperidinedione antineoplaston with potential antineoplastic activity. Antineoplaston A10 was originally isolated from human urine but is now synthetically derived. This agent intercalates into DNA, resulting in cell cycle arrest in G1 phase, reduction of mitosis, and decreased protein synthesis. Antineoplaston A10 may also inhibit ras-oncogene expression and activate tumor suppressor gene p53, leading to cell differentiation and apoptosis. Antineoplaston A10 has been used in trials studying the treatment of glioma, sarcoma, lymphoma, lung cancer, liver cancer, and kidney cancer, among others.
