Icometasone (CL09) is a synthetic glucocorticoid corticosteroid. It is a metabolite of Mometasone Furoate. The binding on human serum albumin was shown to be non saturable, suggesting that other proteins were involved in CL09 binding. This binding was demonstrated to be reversible. CL09 was extensively metabolized since no unchanged CL09 was recovered in bile or urine and at least nine metabolites have been detected. It was studied in Europe as an anti-asthmatic agent but investigation is discontinued.

Locicortolone is an anti-inflammatory and antiallergic synthetic glucocorticoid. It has high glucocorticoid cytoplasmic receptor binding affinity in vitro (more than four times higher than dexamethasone) but comparable to dexamethasone relative TAT (tyrosine aminotransferase induction) activity. It has six times lower binding affinity to mineralocorticoid receptor in comparison to dexamethasone.

Ibutamoren (L-163,191 MK-0677) is a spiropiperidine agonist of the ghrelin receptor and a growth hormone secretagogue. Ibutamoren mimics the actions of growth hormone releasing peptide-6 to increase serum levels of serum insulin-like growth factor-I (IGF-I). Orally active Ibutamoren was being developed by Merck & Co. for a variety of indications, including fibromyalgia, muscle wasting/weakness in patients with chronic kidney disease, Alzheimer's disease and fractures. However, there has been no recent development reported or development has been discontinued for these indications.

Naflocort (SQ 26,490) is a topical anti-inflammatory adrenocortical steroid. It was a moderately potent inhibitor of edema formation in the rat. After extended topical application, SQ 26,490 totally inhibited edema formation without appreciable production of skin atrophy, measured under identical conditions. SQ 26,490 possesses the property for a greater separation of anti-inflammatory and atrophogenic activities than comparative corticoids.

Clogestone Acetate (AY-11440) is a steroidal progestin that was synthesized in 1964 and was investigated as a progestin-only contraceptive but was never marketed.

Thyromedan is a thyroalkanoic acid derivative with hypocholesterolemic activity. In clinical trials, Thyromedan in daily doses of 8 to 32 mg caused a decrease in serum cholesterol levels. The serum total triglycerides and the α- and β-lipoprotein partition of cholesterol and triglycerides were unaffected.

Trestolone is a synthetic androgen that inhibits the release of follicle-stimulating hormone and impairs spermatogenesis. Luteinizing hormone is also suppressed, which cuts production of testosterone. The azoospermia and oligospermia are reversible after discontinuation of trestolone. Trestolone has androgenic and anabolic properties and loss of secondary sex characteristics is not seen. Like testosterone, trestolone undergoes enzymatic aromatization to an estrogen. The use of trestolone instead of testosterone for androgen replacement therapy could have health-promoting effects by reducing the occurrence of prostate disease. Trestolone had been in phase II clinical trial for the andropause control. However, this development was discontinued.

Stenbolone is an anabolic–androgenic steroid of the dihydrotestosterone group patented by Schering AG but never marketed. Ester prodrug of stenbolone is used as an anabolic–androgenic steroid for depot intramuscular injection under the brand names Anatrofin and Stenobolone.

Triamcinolone acetonide- 21-dihydrogen phosphate is the long-acting derivative of a synthetic glucocorticoid triamcinolone. Triamcinolone acetonide has eight times more potency than prednisolone. Triamcinolone acetonide- 21-dihydrogen phosphate used for intravenous injection. It is supposed to be hydrolyzed rapidly in the body to form the free corticoid alcohol.
