Ablukast is a benzopyran derivative, a leukotriene receptor antagonist with potential as an antiasthmatic agent. Ablukast antagonized he hypotensive effect of N-methyl leukotriene C4 and leukotriene C4 (LTC4). Ablukast also antagonized the effects induced by high doses of leukotriene D4 and E4. Receptors that preferentially bind LTC4 in bullfrog vascular smooth muscle regulate the hypotensive effect and that they can be antagonized by ablukast. Ablukast has been in phase III clinical trials for the treatment of bowel disease. However, this research has been discontinued.

Cotinine is a product formed after the chemical nicotine enters the body. Measuring cotinine in people’s blood is the most reliable way to determine exposure to nicotine for both smokers and nonsmokers exposed to environmental tobacco smoke. Cotinine is safe, non-addictive and has pharmacokinetic properties adequate for therapeutic use. Research has shown that cotinine has antipsychotic, anxiolytic, and antidepressant properties and modulates the serotonergic, cholinergic and dopaminergic systems. Cotinine behaves as a positive allosteric modulator of the nicotinic acetylcholine receptors and has anti-inflammatory effects. Cotinine is under investigation as an agent for the treatment of depression, PTSD, schizophrenia, Alzheimer's disease and Parkinson's disease.

Fluocortolone is a topical corticosteroid (class of steroid hormones formed in the adrenal gland). Is primary indicated in condition like, Ana fissure, Dermatosis haemorrhoids, proctitis. The signs and symptoms that are produced after the acute overdosage include convulsions, respiratory arrest, allergic skin reactions. Glucocorticoids, such as fluocortolone, act through nuclear hormone receptors Schaaf and Cidlowski (2002). The two members of this family are glucocorticoid receptor (GR) type I and GR type I I. Activation of these sites alters gene expression of endogenous agents that influence immune and inflammatory responses.

Talaporfin (INN, also known as aspartyl chlorin, mono-L-aspartyl chlorin e6, NPe6, or LS11) is a photosensitizer used in photodynamic therapy (PDT). Talaporfin is injected into tumors and other regret tissues where it accumulates. It’s activated with light emitting diodes (LED). It absorbs red light at 664-667 nm normally provided by a laser tuned to this wavelength. It was approved in Japan (in 2004) for PDT of lung cancer and glioma and marketed as Laserphyrin. Clinical and preclinical studies indicate that talaporfin sodium treatment may offer a powerful option to synergize current therapies, as well as an alternative monotherapy in treating cancer.

Neo-Gilurythmal (or prajmaline), an antiarrhythmic agent, which is used to treat angina pectoris, Wolff–Parkinson–White Syndrome and coronary artery disease. Neo-Gilurythmal found to be effective even in the case where other previously used antiarrhythmics were ineffective.

Lenapenem is an anti-bacterial agent that was tested in late 90's in phase II clinical trials against bacterial infections. Lenapenem was shown to be active against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria and exerted its therapeutic effect by inhibiting penicillin binding proteins. The development of the drug was terminated due to the safety reason.
Ioxitalamic acid is a contrast media, which was used as a meglumine salt under the name Telebrix for intravenous urography; computed tomography; digital angiography; angiocardiography (ventriculography, coronary angiography). The drug is no longer available on the market.

Iodoalphionic acid is the contrast medium, which was used for gallbladder examination. It is rarely appeared in the colon and, therefore, rarely masked the gallbladder. The density of the shadow produced by Iodoalphionic acid was greater than that produced by iodophthalein. It was reliable peroral cholecystographic medium, which was less objectionable to take and seldom causes vomiting. Diarrhoea occurred in some cases, but not more often than with tetraiodophenolphthalein. The ingestion of Iodoalphionic acid resulted in low thyroidal radioiodine accumulation for periods ranging from a few weeks to many months.

Ecabet is an anti-ulcer agent, marketed in Japan as an oral agent for treatment of gastric ulcers and gastritis. Ecabet eradicates Helicobacter pylori infection in gastric ulcer patients. Antibacterial effect of ecabet is demonstrated at low pH, is mediated by inhibition of bacterial urease and accompanied by interference with TLR4 signaling and pepsin inhibition. Ecabet is also investigated for the treatment of dry eye syndrome.
