Ripazepam (CI 683 or pyrazapon) is a pyrazolodiazepine that has anxiolytic effects. It is related to certain benzodiazepines such as zolazepam. In animal studies, it showed anxiolytic effects without sedative or depressant effects. In rats, it did not elicit a tumorigenic potential. Although ripazepam was found significantly superior to placebo and was well tolerated in neurotic patients, it has never been marketed for clinical use.

Tiformin (also known as γ-Guanidinobutyramide) is a butyramide derivate with antidiabetic activity. Tiformin was isolated for the first time from a medium containing arginine which had been transformed by washed cells of Streptomyces griseus. In preclinical models, oral administration of Tiformin depresses blood glucose in rats and rabbits. Tiformin given i.v. produced hyperglycemia and sometimes death of experimental animals. Tiformin is not significantly metabolized in the rat or dog.

Cyheptamide is anticonvulsant compound, developed by the Canadian company Ayerst Research Laboratories in the 1960s. Oral administration of compound at 14-25 mg/kg protected mice against the tonic phase of pentylenetetrazole convulsion and maximal electroshock seizure. Anticonvulsant activity of cyheptamide was confirmed in initial clinical studies, but the compound was not marketed.
