Spaglumic acid (NAAG) is the β-aspartyl isoform of N-Acetyl-l-aspartylglutamate (isospaglumic Acid is N-(N-Acetyl-l-α-aspartyl)-l-glutamic acid). In eye drops, spaglumic acid is either a magnesium or sodium salt of N-Acetyl-l-aspartylglutamate. Spaglumic acid is a mast cell stabilizer. Thus it is used in allergic conditions such as allergic conjunctivitis. Specifically spaglumic acid is approved in Portugal under the brand name Naabak and in Greece under the brand name Naaxia for use in patients with allergic conjunctivitis. Spaglumic Acid is a peptide neurotransmitter and the third-most-prevalent neurotransmitter in the mammalian nervous system. It is a weak activator of NMDA receptors and a highly selective agonist for mGlu3 receptors. Spaglumic Acid is neuroprotective under non-hydrolysing conditions in vivo.

There is no information related to the biological and pharmacological properties of the aleuritic acid. But is known, that this compound is is the major acid constituent of the lac resin secreted by Indian lac insect Kerria lacca. Also, it can be obtained from shellac by saponification. Aleuritic acid is a unique acid containing three hydroxyl groups of which two are of adjacent carbon atoms. It is used as a component in the perfume industry for the preparation of musk aroma.

Sultosilic acid is a benzenesulfonate ester. Sultosilic acid has been shown to be a hypolipidaemic drug both in animal experiments and in human clinical studies, chemically unrelated to other such drugs. The compound is being developed as a human drug (Mimedran ®) and is formulated as the piperazine salt (A-585). The recommended daily dose is three times one tablet containing 500 mg of Sultosilic acid.

Tauroselcholic acid Se-75 (SeHCAT) is an analog of naturally occurring bile acid conjugate taurocholic acid. It contains a radioactive isotope of selenium, which decays with a half-life of 120 days by emitting gamma-radiation. Tauroselcholic acid is used in clinical tests to diagnose bile acid malabsorption. This is achieved by determining either the excretion of activity in feces or the retention of the activity in the body over a period of days. Tauroselcholic acid is useful in the assessment of ileal involvement in, Crohn's disease, in assessing reduction of ileal absorptive function following certain surgical interventions and in assisting in the classification of patients suffering from chronic diarrhea.
