CHEMICAL (ACHIRAL)

Picumast is a prophylactically active anti-allergic compound which combines inhibition of mediator release and action. The activity profile of picumast differs clearly from that of known prophylactic anti-allergic drugs such as DSCG and ketotifen. Other inhibitory actions of picumast in addition to its Histamine H1 receptor -antagonism (and that of its metabolites M2 and M1) may be the cause of the suppression of immediate and late phase allergic reactions in animals as well as allergic rhinitis and bronchial responsiveness and symptom scores in asthmatic patients. In the rat, picumast inhibited carrageenin edema but was inactive against other types of inflammation. Picumast dihydrochloride cannot be considered as an anti-inflammatory drug in general, since it was inactive against adjuvant arthritis in rats and did not inhibit cotton pellet granulomas.

Evatanepag (CP-533,536) is a prostaglandin E2 EP2 receptor agonist. It stimulates new bone formation on trabecular, endocortical, and periosteal surfaces and enhances fracture healing. Evatanepag was under development with Pfizer as a bone formation stimulant for therapeutic use in the healing of fractures.

Class (Stereo):
CHEMICAL (RACEMIC)

Elgodipine (IQB-875, CAS 119413-55-7) is a phenyldihydropyridine derivative acting as a calcium channel antagonist. Elgodipine inhibited both T- and L-type calcium channels in a concentration-dependent manner. Elgodipine was in clinical trials for the treatment of cardiovascular diseases however its development has been discontinued.

Class (Stereo):
CHEMICAL (ABSOLUTE)

Disulergine is the synthetic 8 alpha-amino ergoline. Disulergine is the dopamine D2 receptor agonist and prolactin release inhibitor. Disulergine was as potent as dopamine in inhibiting growth hormone release but, in contrast to dopamine, was nearly ineffective in stimulating the secretion of the hormone.

CHEMICAL (ACHIRAL)

Niludipine (Bay-a-7168) is a potent calcium antagonistic coronary vasodilator with less cardiodepressant effect than nifedipine. Niludipine is a safe antianginal Ca2+-antagonist with broad effectiveness for various types of angina pectoris. Niludipine is clinically useful as coronary vasodilator and hypotensive agent.
