Trimethyldiphenylpropylamine (Recipavrin) is a methadon analog with antispasmodic properties. It exerts both musculotropic (antibarium) and anticholinergic action, relieves smooth muscle spasms, e.g. dysmenorrhea and pains associated with gallstones. It was marketed in Sweden in the 1960s as a spasmolytic drug under tradename Recipavrin.

YTTRIUM Y-90 (YTRACIS®, YTTRIGA®) is a radioactive form of the chemical element yttrium. It is used for radiolabelling other medicines. An example of its use is the treatment of some type of tumors, where the radiolabelled medicine carries the radioactivity to the site of a tumor to destroy the tumor cells.

Diamminedichlorodihydroxyplatinum IV is the platinum-based antineoplasticis agent. Oxaliplatin is cis, cis, trans- isomer of Diamminedichlorodihydroxyplatinum IV. Oxaliplatin show high stability and therefore can be utilized orally for outpatient care. Although oxoplatin is capable of binding directly to DNA after prolonged incubation, platinum(IV) agents are considered to be largely inert prodrugs that are converted to highly cytotoxic platinum(II) compounds by reducing substances, enzymes, or microenvironmental conditions. Reaction of oxoplatin with 0.1 M hydrogen chloride mimicking gastric acid yields cis-diammine-tetrachlorido-platinum(IV) (DATCP[IV]), which exhibits two-fold increased activity. The oxoplatin metabolite DATCP(IV) constitutes a potent cytotoxic derivative that may be produced by gastric acid or acidic areas prevailing in larger solid tumors, depending on the respective pharmaceutical formulation of oxoplatin.

Furagin (Furazidine) is a nitrofuran derivative, acting as an antibacterial medicine with bacteriostatic action. It is active against both gram-positive (Staphylococcus epidermidis, Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus faecalis) and gram-negative microorganisms (Enterobacteriaceae – Salmonella, Shygella, Proteus, Klebsiella, Escherichia, Enterobacter, etc.). It is used for the treatment of urinary tract, skin and soft tissues infections.

Mitoguazone is a guanylhydrazone derivative with potential antineoplastic activity. Mitoguazone inhibits S-adenosyl-L-methionine decarboxylase (SAMD), an enzyme involved in the synthesis of polyamines, resulting in a decreased proliferation of tumor cells, antimitochondrial effects, and p53-independent apoptosis. In the 1960s the drug was investigated in clinical trials. Despite the responses in acute leukemia, chronic myelogenous leukemia, lymphoma, multiple myeloma, head and neck cancer, esophageal cancer and other types of cancer, the development of the drug was discontinued because of marked myelosuppression and mucositis. Using a weekly schedule of administration, mitoguazone had minimal toxicity and showed limited activity in patients with lymphoma, esophageal cancer, prostate cancer, and other types of tumors.

Laninamivir ocatanoate is a prodrug of Laninamivir (R-125489), a new neuraminidase (NA) inhibitor, was discovered, and in this study, its NA inhibitory activities against various influenza viruses including oseltamivir-resistant viruses are reported. Laninamivir octanoate has been approved for use in Japanese clinics for the treatment and prevention of influenza in both adults and children. The inhaled laninamivir octanoate is converted into its active form, laninamivir, in the lungs where a high concentration persists for a long period of time.

SULFACLOZINE is a competitive antagonist of para-aminobenzoic acid (PABA), a precursor of folic acid, in protozoa and bacteria. It is indicated for treatment of coccidiosis in poultry due to infection with Eimeria species, fowl typhoid due to infection with Salmonella gallinarum and fowl cholera due to infection with Pasteurella multocida. Adverse reactions are liver damage, allergic reactions. In poultry undesirable effects, as inappetence, diarrhoea, growth depression, or haemorrhages after administration of sulfaclozine are rare. Prolong use may cause crystal urea.

Taltirelin (TA-0910), a synthetic thyrotropin-releasing hormone (TRH) analog, has been developed by Tanabe Seiyaku for the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases. Taltirelin mimics the physiological actions of TRH, but with a much longer half-life and duration of effects, and little development of tolerance following prolonged dosing. Taltirelin has nootropic, neuroprotective and analgesic effects. Taltirelin is primarily being researched for the treatment of spinocerebellar ataxia; limited research has also been carried out with regard to other neurodegenerative disorders, e.g., spinal muscular atrophy.
