Trefentanil is a short-acting synthetic opioid of the piperidine class. The drug caused potent analgesia with the peak effect occurring 3 min after injection. There was no significant difference in analgesic potency of trefentanil and alfentanil as measured by tolerance to tibial pressure at 3 min. Trefentanil had a pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic profile similar to alfentanil, with a small extent of tissue distribution and a rapid blood/brain equilibration. Trefentanil caused significant respiratory depression at doses of 32 ug/kg and 64 ug/kg. It is a mu-opioid receptor agonist. Trefentanil produced naloxone reversible anti-nociception equi-efficacious to that of fentanyl.

Meisoindigo ((E)-1,1'-dimethyl-[3,3'-biindolinylidene]-2,2'-dione) is a derivative of Indigo Naturalis, that has been used in China for chronic myeloid leukemia. In vitro cell line studies have shown that this agent might induce apoptosis and myeloid differentiation of acute myeloid leukemia (AML). Meisoindigo has been a routine therapeutic agent in the clinical treatment of chronic myelogenous leukemia (CML) in China since the 1980s. In phase III clinical trial of Meisoindigo involving 402 patients, it was shown that Meisoindigo was equally efficient for both newly diagnosed and previously treated CML patients after oral administration. The hematological complete response (CR) and partial response (PR) rates, respectively, were 45.0 and 39.3% for newly diagnosed patients and 35.9 and 41.4% for previously treated patients. Meisoindigo was generally well tolerated. The most frequent side‑effects were bone, joint and/or muscle pain of varying degrees when the dosage was more than the suitable one.

Anatibant was a selective small-molecule antagonist of the bradykinin B2 receptor that was undergoing clinical development with Xytis and Fournier for the treatment of brain injuries. Anatibant reduces brain oedema in animal TBI models. Noserious toxicity was found in Phase 1 clinical trials. Following subcutaneous administration of clinically relevant doses, there were no systemic effects but there was pain, inflammation and nodule formation at the injection site. Anatibant inhibits the binding of BK to the B2 receptor. After subcutaneous injection Anatibant is bio-available and crosses the BBB.
Fonturacetam, also known as Phenylpiracetam, is marketed in Russia as Carphedon and Phenotropil. It is one of the first ever nootropic drugs and originally discovered in Russia. Fonturacetam acts on most neurotransmitter systems and has been used for its cognitive and physical enhancing properties, and also as an antidepressant.
