Hematoporphyrin (Photodyn), a porphyrin prepared from hemin, is used as a photosensitizer in photodynamic therapy. Photodynamic therapy is based on the use of light-sensitive photosensitizers. Photoactivation causes the formation of singlet oxygen, which produces peroxidative reactions that can cause cell damage and death. Hematoporphyrin was used as the therapeutic agent in patients with manic-depressive reactions and in patients with involutional melancholia. One of the last studies has shown, that Hematoporphyrin-Photodynamic therapy (PDT) combined with stent placement is an effective and safe treatment for extrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (EHCC).
Drofenine, product name Spasmo-Cibalgin (Novartis, Oman), is an antispasmodic/anticholinergic agent used for relaxing smooth muscle, treating dysmenorrhea, and relieving pain in the gastrointestinal tract, biliary passages, and urogenital tract. The possible therapeutic effect of drofenine is proposed by its activation of transient receptor potential vanilloid-3 (TRPV3), a member of the TRPV subfamily of TRP ion channels.

CHEMICAL (RACEMIC)

Conditions:

Dipipanone are indicated for the management of moderate to severe pain in medical and surgical conditions in which morphine may be indicated. Dipipanone is related to methadone and can be substituted for assorted opioids. The severe or irreversible adverse effects of Dipipanone, which give rise to further complications, include hypotension, hypotension, hependence, agranulocytosis, ischemic colitis, generalized chorea, hypersensitivity hepatitis. It may interact badly with monoamine oxidase inhibitors, which are substances found in some antidepressants and other medication.

4-tert-Pentylphenol (4-tert-Amylphenol) is used to make phenolic resins (novolaks and resoles), which are used in paints and varnishes and as printing ink resins. The ethoxylated novolaks are used as oil field demulsifiers. Because of the high cost of 4-tert-pentylphenol, which is related to the high cost of the starting material, many of the resin applications have been reformulated using 4-tertbutylphenol. The substance is also used as a germicide in cleaning solutions, although it is being replaced by quaternary ammonium salts. Kegley et al. (2007) confirm that both the substance and its potassium and sodium salts are antimicrobial or fungicidal active ingredients of several disinfectant products that are currently registered with the US authorities. It appears that some of these products are used in animal husbandry, including the control of highly infectious diseases such as avian influenza (US EPA, 2007d). 4-tert-Amylphenol was used as an esterogen receptor (ER) ligand.

Deptropine citrate is a well-known H1-histamine receptor antagonist and muscarinic receptor antagonist. It is prescribed frequently for treatment of asthma, although there has been a sharp decrease in prescriptions since 1994. Deptropine is gradually being replaced by inhaled beta 2 adrenergic agonists and glucocorticosteroids as the preferred clinical prescription. Recently deptropine has garnered interest as a potential treatment for breast cancer. In vitro studies have shown deptropine citrate has inhibitory effects on cell viability and mammosphere formation in Breast Cancer Stem Cells (BCSCs). However, it does not seem to inhibit the self-renewal capacity of the breast cancer cell line MDA-MB-231 when it is enriched with Cancer Stem Cells.

Enviomycin, antimicrobial drug, was isolated in Japan from fermentation broth of Syteptomyces griseoverticillatus var tuberacticus. This drug, a water-soluble, basic peptide, is effective against tubercle bacilli as well as some gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. It is related to viomycin and cepreomycin in some of its physicochemical properties. It is used for the treatment of Mycobacterium avium caused lung diseases.
