Sodium anthranilate is an excipient (pharmacologically inactive substance). Sodium anthranilate (Aminobenzoate sodium ,C7H6NNaO2), also known as sodium 2-aminobenzoate, is an organic amine. Aminobenzoate sodium exists as a yellow powder for use in pharmaceutical processing.
Indium is a rare, soft silvery-white metal. It is used in some manufacturing process, butt here is no known biological role for indium in the human body. Although there are claims that indium increases hormone production, stimulates immune system function, and increases energy, there is no reliable scientific evidence to support such claims. In vitro, indium-III salts appears to have cytotoxic activity against melanoma. Indium cation (Indium-III), when complexed with 8-hydroxyquinoline (oxine), has been employed as a radioactive platelet label for thrombus imaging in animals and man. The short half-life (2.8 d) and high yield of gamma photons of 111In make it ideal for in vitro counting and external imaging. Indium In 111 ProstaScint (Capromab Pendetide) is indicated as a diagnostic imaging agent in newly-diagnosed patients with biopsy-proven prostate cancer, thought to be clinically-localized after standard diagnostic evaluation (eg chest x-ray, bone scan, CT scan, or MRI), who are at high-risk for pelvic lymph node metastases. It is not indicated for patients who are not at high risk. Indium In 111 ProstaScint is also indicated as a diagnostic imaging agent in post-prostatectomy patients with a rising PSA and a negative or equivocal standard metastatic evaluation in whom there is a high clinical suspicion of occult metastatic disease.

Conditions:

Isonicotinic acid considered to be inactive isomer of nicotinic acid. Isonicotinic acid is a metabolite of pyridine-4-carboxy hydrazide (isonicotinyl hydrazide; isoniazid) a front-line weapon in the battle against tuberculosis. Isonicotinic acid and its derivatives are used in manufacturing pharmaceuticals and agrochemicals.

Targets:

Prosultiamine (Alinamin®), a well-known thiamine derivative, was first developed by Takeda Pharmaceutical Company in Japan in the 1950s. The drug is a homolog of allithiamine produced by thiol-type vitamin B1 and allicin. Prosultiamine is converted to vitamin B1 after absorption from the gut. The drug thus enables a long-lasting high blood concentration of vitamin B1, resulting in efficient access of vitamin B1 to nervous tissue. Prosultiamine has cured many patients with vitamin B1 deficiency resulting in beriberi neuropathy and Wernicke’s encephalopathy. Prosultiamine is also a potential treatment for HTLV, since it has been shown to reduce viral load and symptoms.

CHEMICAL (ABSOLUTE)

Cytarabine ocfosfate (commercial name: Starasid) is a prodrug having stearyl group attached to phosphoric acid at 5' position of arabinose moiety of cytosine arabinoside (Ara-C). This drug is given orally. The mode of action is in the inhibition of DNA synthesis after conversion to Ara-CTP as in Ara-C. The drug is metabolized in the liver, producing the intermediate metabolite, C-C3PCA which is converted to Ara-C gradually. This property results in the maintenance of relatively long time the blood Ara-C levels. This was proved to be active clinically against acute leukemia and MDS.

Sulfabromomethazine is a long-acting derivative of sulfamezathine that is used in the poultry, swine and cattle industries for the treatment of coccidiosis and various bacterial infections. Single oral doses of the drug have been used to treat calf diphteria and pneumonia, metritis, foot root and septic mastitis in cattle with repeated dose 48 hors later sometimes required. Use of sulfabromomethazine during the last 3 months of pregnancy should be avoided. The compound is now rarely used.

TAT-59 (Miproxifene Phosphate) is a triphenylethylene analog of tamoxifen. TAT-59 is the phosphate ester prodrug of the practically insoluble parent drug DP-TAT-59. It is an antiestrogen developed in Japan for breast cancer. It is a potent antitumor agent for hormone-dependent tumors. Most of TAT-59 metabolites possessed remarkable binding affinity toward estrogenic receptors as well as fairly good antiuterotrophic activity.
