Ambrettolide itself naturally occurs in the seed oil of Abelmoschus moschatus and is a valuable perfume base because of its desirable odor. Ambrettolide have been isolated from the bulbs of Zephyranthes candida also. It has an elegant and tingling top note musk; harmonizes well with floral heart notes; reflects aspects of ambrette seed oil. Different parts of the Abelmoschus moschatus have uses in Ayurveda herbal medicine. Ambrettolide presents in the FDA list of synthetic flavoring substances and adjuvants, which might be safely used in food.

p-Aminophenol is an active metabolite of paracetamol. p-Aminophenol is conjugated with arachidonic acid by fatty acid amide hydrolase to form AM404. AM404 exerts effect through cannabinoid receptors. p- Aminophenol is a nephrotoxic metabolite of paracetamol and phenacetin. It causes acute renal proximal tubular necrosis after administration to rats. p-Aminophenol may cause skin sensitization, dermatitis. p-Aminophenol is a synthetic dye used in hair coloring.

LP-20 (1-[2-(4-Methoxyphenyl)phenyl]piperazine) is a potent serotonin 5-HT7 receptor antagonist with a low binding affinity for the 5-HT1A and adrenergic 1 receptor. In animal models LP-20 was investigated as a potential positron emission tomography (PET) radiotracer, due to high synthetic availability of 11C radiolabeled compound. Although [11C] LP-20 exhibited in vitro binding with 5-HT7, moderate brain uptake and relatively stable metabolism in the brain, in vivo evaluation showed limited specificity of [11C] LP-20 for 5-HT7.

Indigo, or indigotin, is a dyestuff originally extracted from the varieties of the indigo and woad plants. Indigo was known throughout the ancient world for its ability to color fabrics a deep blue. Egyptian artifacts suggest that indigo was employed as early as 1600 B.C. and it has been found in Africa, India, Indonesia, and China. Indigo is unique in its ability to impart surface color while only partially penetrating fibers. When yarn died with indigo is untwisted, it can be seen that the inner layers remain uncolored. The dye also fades to give a characteristic wom look and for this reason it is commonly used to color denim.

Styrene is used in the production of polystyrene plastics and resins, and in the synthesis of materials for ion exchange resins, and copolymer production. Styrene was originally extracted from the tree storax in 19th century. Its use in rubber production started at the beginning of the 20th century after in E.P. Heinmenn et al succeed in accelerating the polymerization of styrene to rubber in 1910. It is an oily colorless to yellow liquid found in many consumer products (plastic packaging, food containers, and household goods). Short-term exposure to styrene results in respiratory effects, eye irritation, and gastrointestinal effects. Long-term exposure has effects on the central nervous system. Exposure to styrene occurs due to emissions from building materials, consumer products, tobacco smoke, vehicle exhaust or occupational exposure during its industrial processing. Styrene is reasonably anticipated to be a human carcinogen.
