Levomoprolol (L-moprolol) is a beta-adrenergic blocker which was introduced as an oral medication for treatment of systemic hypertension. It was found to be effective in 2% eyedrops in reducing the intraocular pressure in glaucoma. Observations on glaucoma patients treated with the eyedrop for 1.5 to 2.5 years was without undesirable side effects. L-moprolol and dipivefrin had an equivalent effect in lowering the intraocular pressure. The association of the two drugs caused a further reduction of intraocular pressure.

Telatinib (Bay-579352) developed by Bayer is an orally available and highly potent inhibitor of tyrosine kinases VEGFR2,VEGFR3, PDGFR and c-Kit. Telatinib is a potent inhibitor of angiogenesis. Telatinib caused a significant decrease in endothelium-dependent and endothelium-independent vasodilation. Telatinib demonstrates anti-tumor activity in various cancer models. Telatinib is ready for phase III clinical trials for the treatment of gastric cancer. In 2010, it has been granted orphan drug status by the FDA. Most frequent adverse events were pain, nausea, voice changes and fatigue.

The BET-bromodomain inhibitor OTX015 (MK-8628) was initially developed by Mitsubishi Tanabe Pharma Corporation, but then was licensed by OncoEthix, privately held biotechnology company. OTX015 is a selective bromodomains: BRD2, BRD3, and BRD4 inhibitor and inhibits their binding to AcH4. Bromodomains have an important role in the targeting of chromatin-modifying enzymes to specific sites, including methyltransferases, HATs and transcription factors and regulate diverse biological processes from cell proliferation and differentiation to energy homeostasis and neurological processes. OTX015 has potent antiproliferative activity accompanied by c-MYC down-regulation in several tumor types, and has demonstrated synergism with the mTOR inhibitor everolimus in different models. Oral administration of OTX-015 markedly inhibited tumor growth and reduced tumor volume. OTX015 is currently in Phase 1b studies for the treatment of hematological malignancies and advanced solid tumors such as Triple Negative Breast Cancer, Non-small Cell Lung Cancer, Castrate-resistant Prostate Cancer (CRPC) and Pancreatic Ductal Adenocarcinoma. In addition, OTX015 was in phase II for the treatment of Glioblastoma Multiforme, but there were not detected clinical activity of the drug in the treatment populations and trial was closed.

m-Chlorophenylpiperazine (meta-chlorophenylpiperazine or mCPP) is a psychoactive substance, which is illegal in many countries but can be found on the black market. It induces endocrine, neurological and psychiatric effects. mCPP is a partial agonist at the 5-HT2C receptor but antagonized the 5-HT2B and 5-HT3 receptors. mCPP is also an active metabolite of the drug trazodone, which is used as an effective antidepressant drug with a broad therapeutic spectrum, including anxiolytic efficacy. It is known, that mCPP induces migraine attacks and that the decrease of food intake induced by the mCPP depends on its ability to act as a serotonin agonist is a brain.

Loxoribine [RWJ 217C7] is an immunostimulant which was developed by Johnson and Johnson. It is a selective agonist for TLR7 (Toll-like receptor 7), which possesses antitumor and antiviral properties and was investigated in a rat model of endometriosis and in addition, in phase I of a clinical trial for patients with advanced cancer.
