Ferric Ammonium EDTA Solution is normally used as a photographic chemical for a bleaching agent in the process of colour washing. It is also used as a complexing, and oxidizing agent & as a fertilizer and catalyst. EDTA acid are colourless, water-soluble solid that are widely used to dissolve scale. The usefulness of these ammonium salts arise because of its role as a chelating agent, i.e. its ability to "sequester" metal ions such as Ca2+ and Fe3+.

Aspirin is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug. Aspirin is unique in this class of drugs because it irreversibly inhibits both COX-1 and COX-2 activity by acetylating a serine residue (Ser529 and Ser516, respectively) positioned in the arachidonic acid-binding channel, thus inhibiting the synthesis of prostaglandins and reducing the inflammatory response. The drug is used either alone or in combination with other compounds for the treatment of pain, headache, as well as for reducing the risk of stroke and heart attacks in patients with brain ischemia and cardiovascular diseases.

RO-638695 (also known as Miridesap, CPHPC and GSK-2315698) is an antineoplastic and a serum amyloid P component inhibitor. RO-638695 almost completely depletes circulating serum amyloid P component (SAP), but a small amount of SAP is left for recognition by subsequently administered therapeutic IgG anti-SAP antibodies. SAP is a blood protein that is the target of a novel immunotherapy approach. RO-638695 has therefore been evaluated in phase I and II clinical trials for its safety and potential in treatment of diseases like Alzheimer’s disease, HIV infection and other diseases with systemic amyloid deposition.

PG-116800 is a member of the hydroxyproline-based hydroxamic acid class of matrix metalloproteinase (MMP) inhibitors. PG-116800 did not modify matrix structure in osteoarthritic patients. Also, it had unexpected side effects on muscle and skeleton; it limited joint mobility, and caused arthralgia, hand oedema, palmar fibrosis, Dupuytren’s contracture and persistent tendon thickness or nodules. PG-116800 failed to reduce left ventricular remodeling or improve clinical outcomes after myocardial infarction.

Timegadine Is a quinolylguanidine derivative patented by Loevens Kemiske Fabrik Produktionsaktieselskab as an anti-arthritic agent. Timegadine acts as a potent, competitive inhibitor of cyclo-oxygenase and lipo-oxygenase. Timegadine significantly inhibits both the primary and secondary lesions of rats adjuvant arthritis when the treatment is initiated on the day of the disease induction and continues for 28 days. Timegadine is able specifically to prevent the development of the swelling of the non-injected paw until 28 days after the adjuvant injection when administered for 5 days prior to and 5 days after the induction of the disease, in analogy with the effect of cyclophosphamide. In clinical trials, Timegadine significantly improves both biochemical and clinical markers of disease activity, i.e. ESR, serum IgG and IgM, leukocyte and platelet counts, duration of morning stiffness, Ritchie index, number of swollen joints and pain. Timegadine treatment associated with gastrointestinal and allergic side effects.

Bremazocine, a kappa-opioid agonist has limited potential as a clinical analgesic, however, possesses a possible utility for the therapy of alcohol and drug addiction. It was shown that bremazocine-like drugs could lower intraocular pressure and to minimize ischemic damage, that could be used in the therapy of glaucoma and cardiovascular disease.
