Carbendazim is a broad-spectrum benzimidazole antifungal with potential antimitotic and antineoplastic activities widely used as a fungicide in agriculture and home gardening, and as an antihelminthic in veterinary medicine. As a fungicide, carbendazim used for controls Ascomycetes, Fungi Imperfecti, and Basidiomycetes on a wide variety of crops, including bananas, cereals, cotton, fruits, grapes, mushrooms, ornamentals, peanuts, sugarbeet, soybeans, tobacco, and vegetables. Carbendazim is a chemically stable and relatively persistent fungicide which only metabolizes to a limited extent in plants and in soil. The only detected metabolite is 2-aminobenzimidazole, which constitutes less than 5% of the total residues in leaves. Carbendazim may be anticipated to metabolize in the animal into hydroxylated analogues which may appear in meat and milk products. Carbendazim acts as a mitotic poison by altering tubulin binding and microtubule formation. This has been proposed as a possible mechanism of action for the developmental abnormalities seen in animal studies with high concentrations.

HaiHe Biopharma (Shanghai HaiHe Pharmaceutical) is developing simmitecan, an ester pro-drug of chimmitecan for the treatment of cancer. Simmitecan is in phase I development for solid tumours and colorectal cancer in China. Simmitecan (L-P) is a water-soluble ester prodrug of chimmitecan (L-2-Z) with potent anti-tumor activities in different experimental animals. Chimmitecan,a novel CPT derivative, exhibited potent antitumor activities both in vitro and in vivo by inhibiting topoisomerase I.

Diprogulic acid (Dikegulac) is used as a precursor in vitamin C synthesis. It is plant growth regulator for hedges. Dikegulac is used to differentially kill terminal apices, and it analogously inhibits basic metabolic functions in dividing cells, but not stationary cells, in suspension culture. At the lowest concentrations, dikegulac partially suppresses division of the isolated tobacco protoplasts. Higher concentrations are required to produce visual cytoplasmic damage to the protoplasts, which probably first occurs at the level of the plasmalemma, as the vacuoles can be released intact. Later, tonoplast disruption occurs. It does not inhibit mature leaves.

Metesculetol (permethol) is a vitamin P derivative. It increases capillary resistance and reduces membrane permeability. Permethol is for damaged gums and helps to stop gum bleeding, relieves inflammation and nourishes the gum tissues. It is used as a component of products for oral cavity care.

Benzo-lipoxin A4 as a bLXA4-ME also known as ClinRinse-1 participated in phase II clinical trials for the treatment of gingival diseases. It was shown that nano-proresolving medicines (NPRM) containing a lipoxin analog (benzo-lipoxin A4, bLXA4) was a mimetic of endogenous resolving mechanisms with potent bioactions. That offered a new therapeutic tissue-engineering approach for the treatment of chronic osteolytic inflammatory diseases.
