Dinitolmide (also known as zoalene) is a nitrobenzamide coccidiostat developed by Dow Company. The drug is approved by FDA for the prevention and control of coccidiosis in chickens and turkeys. Dinitolmide is hazardous for man as it may cause mutations. Thus the substance should be handle with extreme caution.

D&C Red No. 27 are fluorescein-based dyes that were approved in 1982 for use in drugs and cosmetics Cosmetic retail products containing this dye is primarily lipsticks and blushers. D&C Red No. 27 physically associated with non-aqueous aluminum or zirconium minerals (lakes) and used in lipsticks, blushers, make-up preparations, hair dyes and colors, rouges and face powders. The FDA lists D&C Red No. 27 as a safe additive for drugs and cosmetics as per FDA standards.

D&C Red No. 6 is an excipient (pharmacologically inactive substance). It is FDA-approved, high-purity pigment. It can be tinted with titanium dioxide to create light red/pink shades. The color additive D&C Red No. 6 is principally the disodium salt of 3-hydroxy-4-[(4-methyl-2-sulfophenyl)azo]-2-naphthalenecarboxylic acid. To manufacture the additive, 2-amino-5-methylbenzenesulfonic acid is diazotized with hydrochloric acid and sodium nitrite. The diazo compound is coupled in alkaline medium with 3-hydroxy-2-naphthalenecarboxylic acid. The resulting dye precipitates as the disodium salt. D&C Red No. 6 is used in decorative cosmetic products including lipsticks, nail lacquers & face makeup (in USA prohibited for eye makeup), personal care products, soaps.

Erythrosine B (also known as Red No. 3), a Food and Drug Administration (FDA)-approved red food dye, is found in cosmetics and food. It is also used as a plasma stain for nerve cells and staining bacteria in soil. It was studied the modulating capabilities of erythrosine B on amyloid-beta peptide (Aβ) aggregation and Aβ-associated impaired neuronal cell function. It is known, that aggregation Aβ is closely linked to the development of Alzheimer's disease pathology.

Ethylparaben is produced naturally and found in several fruits and insects, where it acts as an antimicrobial agent. Ethylparaben is mainly used as antiseptics in cosmetics, food and medicine (E number E214). It is also can be used as feed preservatives and antiseptic for bacteria. Ethylparaben is readily absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract or through the skin. It is hydrolyzed to p-hydroxybenzoic acid and rapidly excreted in urine without accumulating in the body. Under the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (FD&C Act), cosmetic products and ingredients, other than color additives, do not need FDA approval before they go on the market. Broad concentration ranges reported in each product category in 1981 were < 0.1% and > 0.1% to 1%. Studies show the in vivo estrogenicity of MP and EP at human exposure levels, and indicate that populations exposed to large amounts of MP and EP may have a high burden of estrogenicity-related diseases.
