Arsanilic acid, also known as aminophenyl arsenic acid or aminophenyl arsonic acid, is an organoarsenic compound first reported in 1863 by Antoine Béchamp. Arsanilic acid is a crystalline powder introduced medically in the late 19th century as Atoxyl, its sodium salt was used by injection in the early 20th century as the first organic arsenical drug, but it was soon found prohibitively toxic for human use. Arsanilic acid saw long use as a veterinary feed additive promoting growth and to prevent or treat dysentery in poultry and swine. In 2013, its approval by US government as an animal drug was voluntarily withdrawn by its sponsors. Still sometimes used in laboratories, Arsanilic acid's legacy is principally through its influence on Paul Ehrlich in launching the chemotherapeutic approach to treating infectious diseases of humans.

Furagin (Furazidine) is a nitrofuran derivative, acting as an antibacterial medicine with bacteriostatic action. It is active against both gram-positive (Staphylococcus epidermidis, Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus faecalis) and gram-negative microorganisms (Enterobacteriaceae – Salmonella, Shygella, Proteus, Klebsiella, Escherichia, Enterobacter, etc.). It is used for the treatment of urinary tract, skin and soft tissues infections.

Indium is a rare, soft silvery-white metal. It is used in some manufacturing process, butt here is no known biological role for indium in the human body.
Although there are claims that indium increases hormone production, stimulates immune system function, and increases energy, there is no reliable scientific evidence to support such claims.
In vitro, indium-III salts appears to have cytotoxic activity against melanoma. Indium cation (Indium-III), when complexed with 8-hydroxyquinoline (oxine), has been employed as a radioactive platelet label for thrombus imaging in animals and man. The short half-life (2.8 d) and high yield of gamma photons of 111In make it ideal for in vitro counting and external imaging. Indium In 111 ProstaScint (Capromab Pendetide) is indicated as a diagnostic imaging agent in newly-diagnosed patients with biopsy-proven prostate cancer, thought to be clinically-localized after standard diagnostic evaluation (eg chest x-ray, bone scan, CT scan, or MRI), who are at high-risk for pelvic lymph node metastases. It is not indicated for patients who are not at high risk. Indium In 111 ProstaScint is also indicated as a diagnostic imaging agent in post-prostatectomy patients with a rising PSA and a negative or equivocal standard metastatic evaluation in whom there is a high clinical suspicion of occult metastatic disease.

Dequalinium is a quaternary ammonium cation commonly available as the dichloride salt. Dequalinium chloride has an antiseptic effect against a wide range of bacteria, yeasts, and some fungi and viruses. It kills the micro-organisms associated with various mild infections of the mouth and throat. Also, Dequalinium chloride is active against the bacteria which cause bacterial vaginosis. Dequalinium Chloride (DECA) is a PKC inhibitor and high-affinity blocker CNGA1 channel, and nearly as effective on heteromeric CNGA1+CNGB1 channels. Common side effects are: vaginal discharge; vaginal itching or vaginal burning; vaginal yeast infection (thrush); tender tongue.

Pipofezine (Azafen or Azaphen) is a tricyclic antidepressant (TCA) approved in Russia for the treatment of depression. It was introduced in the late 1960s and is still used today. Pipofezine has been shown to act as a potent inhibitor of the reuptake of serotonin. In addition to its antidepressant action, pipofezine has sedative effects as well, suggesting antihistamine activity. Other properties such as anticholinergic or antiadrenergic actions are less clear but are likely. The main advantage of Azafen compared with other tricyclic antidepressants is that this drug has a low toxic effect on the body, including the heart, and it does not block cholinergic receptors and does not change the activity of monoamine oxidase. The maximum concentration in the blood is reached after 1-2 hours after taking the drug. Absorbed in the gastrointestinal tract, metabolism occurs in the liver, and is excreted by Azaphene kidneys.

(R)-Sulindac is the (R)-enantiomer of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) Sulindac, that is marketed in the U.S. by Merck as Clinoril. Sulindac is a prodrug, derived from sulfinylindene, that is converted in vivo to an active sulfide compound by liver methionine sulfoxide reductases (Msr). The (Msr) family of enzymes includes two major classes, MsrA and MsrB, that specifically reduce the S- and R-epimers of Sulindac. Reduction of (R)-Sulindac to Sulindac Sulfide catalyzed by methionine sulfoxide reductase (Msr)-B. The oxidation of both epimers to sulindac sulfone is catalyzed primarily by the microsomal cytochrome P450 (P450) system. (S)-Sulindac increases the activity of the P450 system better than (R)-sulindac, but both epimers increase primarily the enzymes that oxidize (R)-sulindac. Both epimers can protect normal lung cells against oxidative damage and enhance the killing of lung cancer cells exposed to oxidative stress.

Watanidipine (AE0047) had been NDA filed for the treatment of hypertension in Japan. Watanidipine (as Calbren®) was awaiting registration with Mitsubishi Pharma Corporation in Japan. However, Mitsubishi Pharma Corporation has discontinued the development of this drug. Watanidipine had also been in phase II clinical trials for the treatment of stroke and preclinical trials for atherosclerosis. However, no recent development has been reported. Watanidipine (AE0047) has being shown to be a calcium antagonist with protective effects against cerebral ischaemia and the occurrence of stroke in several animal models.

Enilconazole is a synthetic broad-spectrum antimycotic with a high activity against most of the common dermatophytes and various other fungi and yeasts. It is a selective inhibitor of ergosterol biosynthesis, an essential component of the cell membrane of fungi and yeasts. This results in irreversible changes which are the origin of the fungicidal effect. Enilconazole is marketed under the brand name Imaverol among others. Imaverol concentrated solution is a synthetic antimycotic with a potent antifungal action against dermatophytes such as: Trichophyton verrucosum, Trichophyton mentagrophytes, Trichophyton equinum, and Microsporum canis in horses and dogs.
