Ethyl vanillin is an important food additive and flavouring agent approved by FAO/WHO, has a vanilla odor four times that of vanillin and shows anti-mutagenic activity. It is used as flavoring agent and/or as an additive by the food, cosmetic, or pharmaceutic industries. Ethyl vanillin possesses antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. The antioxidant activity of ethyl vanillin was much stronger than that of vanillin in the oxidative hemolysis inhibition assay, but was the same as that of vanillin in the ORAC assay. Oral administration of ethyl vanillin to mice increased the concentration of ethyl vanillic acid, and effectively raised antioxidant activity in the plasma as compared to the effect of vanillin. The antioxidant activity of ethyl vanillin might be more beneficial than has been thought in daily health practice. The anti-angiogenic, anti-inflammatory and anti-nociceptive properties of EVA are based on its suppressive effect on the production of nitric oxide possibly via decreasing the reactive oxygen species level.

Oxazolam is a prodrug (precursor) for the benzodiazepine desmethyl-diazepam (nordazepam) and is itself a metabolic product of other benzodiazepines. It has anxiolytic, sedative, and anticonvulsant properties. It is a GABA-A receptor agonist. Oxazolam is marketed in Japan under the brand name Serenal. It is usually used to treat anxiety, tension, depression, and sleeping disorder in neurosis. It is used to treat somatic symptoms in psychosomatic disorders (gastrointestinal diseases, circulatory diseases, endocrine diseases, and autonomic dystonia), anxiety, tension, and depression. It is also used as a preanesthetic medication.

Bamethan (butyl-sympatol or vasculat) is an adrenaline derivative developed by C. H. Boehringer Sohn. Bamethan shows a depressor action on peripheral blood vessels as a result of the peripheral vasodilating action caused by stimulation of adrenergic beta-receptor. Bamethan has been used abroad in the treatment of certain peripheral vascular and circulatory disturbances, such as vasospastic conditions, arteriosclerotic peripheral vascular disease, Raynaud's syndrome, occlusive vascular disease of the legs, the post-thrombotic syndrome, degenerative muscular disorders, and other conditions involving peripheral vascular insuffciency.

Norgestomet is a synthetic derivative of progesterone with improved oral activity due to its 17α-acetate side chain. In veterinary medicine norgestomet is used for the synchronisation of oestrus in cattle. It is administered as a subcutaneous ear implant (containing 3 mg norgestomet; to be removed after 9 to 10 days), in combination with a single intramuscular injection containing 3 mg norgestomet and 5 mg oestradiol valerate. The injection is to be given immediately after application of the implant. Norgestomet is not used in human medicine. It is a steroidal progestin of the 19-norprogesterone group.

Fabomotizole (also known as Afobazole) is a selective non-benzodiazepine anxiolytic which was developed in Russia and launched in 2006. The drug is used for the treatment of wide range of diseases: generalized anxious disorders, neurasthenia, adaptation disorders, sleep disorders, for alleviation of withdrawal syndrome. According to the drug label (in Russian), its action is related to the interaction with sigma-1 receptors.

Octopamine is an organic chemical closely related to norepinephrine. In many types of invertebrates it functions as a neurotransmitter. Octopamine is known to exert adrenergic effects in mammals although specific octopamine receptors have been cloned only in invertebrates. It has been shown that octopamine can stimulate alpha(2)-adrenoceptors (ARs) in Chinese hamster ovary cells transfected with human alpha(2)-ARs. Octopamine stimulates lipolysis through beta(3)-rather than beta(1)-or beta(2)-AR activation in white adipocytes from different mammalian species. Octopamine activates only beta(3)-ARs and is devoid of alpha(2)-adrenergic agonism. Thus, octopamine could be considered as an endogenous selective beta(3)-AR agonist. In humans Octopamine is a trace amine found endogenously in the human brain where it interacts with signalling of catecholamines; it is structurally similar to synephrine and tyramine, being a metabolite of the latter (via dopamine β-hydroxylase) and substrate for the synthesis of the former (via phenethanolamine N-methyltransferase[3]) while being perhaps the closest in structure to noradrenaline. Octopamine is found in the bitter orange similar to many biogenic amines related to L-tyrosine that are used as dietary supplements, this includes synephrine and hordenine. p-Octopamine HCl (Norphen) was studied in the late 1960’s and 1970’s as a drug for the treatment of hypotensive regulatory and circulatory disorders. Octopamine was used as a nootropic. All optical isomers (enantiomers) of octopamine are on the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) 2014 list of substances prohibited in competition.

Adinazolam, a benzodiazepine agonist, is an effective anxiolytic agent with antidepressant properties. It was shown, that adinazolam by itself had relatively weak benzodiazepine agonist activity, and much of the pharmacological activity belonged to its active metabolite N-desmethyladinazolam (NDMAD). Adinazolam has never been FDA approved, but it is sold as a research chemical.

Butamisole is an injectable imidazothiazoles anthelmintic. In dogs it is used for the treatment of infections with whipworms (Trichuris vulpis ), and the hookworm (Ancylostoma caninum ). Nicotinic acetylcholine receptor agonist. Acts as agonist at nicotinic Ach receptor of nematode à ganglionic stimulation causes sustained muscle contraction initially followed by depolarising neuro muscular blockade which in turn leads to spastic paralysis.

Afloqualone (AFQ) is one of the centrally acting muscle relaxants. It is a quinazolinone family GABAergic drug and is an analogue of methaqualone developed in the 1970s by a team at Tanabe Seiyaku. It has sedative and muscle-relaxant effects resulting from its agonist activity at the β subtype of the GABAa receptor, and has had some clinical use, although it causes photosensitization as a side-effect that can cause skin problems such as dermatitis.

Medrogestone is a progesterone derivative used for the treatment of progesterone deficiency, especially those observed in the premenopausal period, haemorrhages and menorrhagia of fibroids, endometriosis, menstrual cycle disorders, etc. The drug acts by binding and activating progesterone receptors. In Europe, medrogestone is available under the name Colprone, however it is no longer marketed in the USA, Germany and Austria.
