Magnesium caprylate is the salt of a medium-chain fatty acid. Magnesium caprylate is stable in foods. Magnesium caprylate is used by food supplement manufacturers as ingredient in tablets, caplets, capsules, chewable tablets, effervescent powders and liquids that are food supplements. Magnesium caprylate is a safe source of magnesium.

Dimethindene (+)- is one of Dimethindene enantiomer that is a subtype-selective M2 muscarinic receptor antagonist. Dimetindene (trade name Fenistil; other name dimethindene maleate) is a potent antipruritic antihistamine, characterized by the small size of its effective dose and its rapidity of action. Dimetindene is an antihistamine/anticholinergic that is a selective H1 antagonist. Its effect sets in after 20 to 60 minutes and lasts several hours. Dimetindene drops as well as Dimetindene syrup is particularly indicated in pediatric practice. Dimetindene is indicated as symptomatic treatment of allergic reactions: urticaria, allergies of the upper respiratory tract such as hay fever and perennial rhinitis, food, and drug allergies; pruritus of various origins, except pruritus due to cholestasis; insect bites. Dimetindene is also indicated for pruritus in eruptive skin diseases such as chickenpox. Dimetindene can be as an adjuvant in eczema and other pruriginous dermatoses of allergic origin.

Uzarigenin is a Na(+), K(+)-ATPase inhibitor; potential anticancer drug. Uzarigenin is a component of Uzara, which has been used for a long time in traditional medicine to treat diarrheal disorders, but the mode of action is not fully known. In Germany, Uzara (Stada, Bad Vilbel, Germany) is frequently used as over-the-counter preparation of the Uzara root, containing 40 mg glycosides/ml.

Clevudine (also known as L-FMAU) is a nucleos(t)ide reverse transcriptase inhibitor, which inhibits the DNA synthesis activity of the hepatitis B virus polymerase. The drug was approved in Korea and Philippines and is being marketed under the names Levovir and Revovir. The drug is indicated in patients with chronic hepatitis B virus infection. Upon administration, clevudine is metabolized to the active metabolite, clevudine triphosphate, which is responsible for the inhibition of viral polymerase.

(R)-3'-hydroxybutyl (R)-3'-hydroxybutyrate or D-β-hydroxybutyrate ester is a is an effective and palatable precursor to the ketone body. Ketone bodies are the most energy-efficient fuel and yield more ATP per mole of substrate than pyruvate and increase the free energy released from ATP hydrolysis. Ketone diet containing (R)-3-hydroxybutyl (R)-3-hydroxybutyrate, improved physical performance and cognitive function in rats, and its energy-sparing properties suggest that it may help to treat a range of human conditions with metabolic abnormalities. It may be used to treat a condition which is caused by, exacerbated by or associated with elevated plasma levels of free fatty acids in a human or animal subject, for instance a condition where weight loss or weight gain is implicated, or to promote alertness or improve cognitive function, or to treat, prevent or reduce the effects of, neurodegeneration, free radical toxicity, hypoxic conditions or hyperglycaemia. It has been approved by the FDA as “Generally Regarded as Safe (GRAS)”.

Pilsicainide is marketed in Japan as (Sunrythm). Pilsicainide controls the cardiac conduction abnormalities and improves the symptoms of arrhythmia with the blocking action on Na channel. It is usually used to treat tachycardiac arrhythmia. Pilsicainide did not affect the resting membrane potential. Under the voltage-clamp condition, pilsicainide inhibited the transient outward current (Ito) that is more prominent in the atrium than in the ventricle in a concentration-dependent manner. However, in contrast to other class Ic agents, the inhibition to Ito by pilsicainide was observed only at much higher concentrations (IC50-300 uM) and did not affect the inactivation time-course of Ito. Moreover, the drug (10 uM) did not significantly affect the Ca2+, delayed rectifier K+, inward rectifying K+, acetylcholine-induced K+ or ATP-sensitive K+ currents. From these results pilsicainide could be differentiated as a pure Na+ channel blocker from other class Ic agents with diverse effects on membrane currents and should be recognized accordingly in clinical situations. A single oral dose of pilsicainide effectively restores normal sinus rhythm in patients with recent-onset atrial fibrillation and a healthy left ventricle. Long-term therapy with pilsicainide is successful in treating chronic atrial fibrillation

Potassium Glycerophosphate is a source of potassium. It is used in the treatment of nutritional deficiencies. Potassium supplements can be an important part of the recovery from or prevention of many different ailments and diseases. The most common of these include helping lower blood pressure and serving as a stroke preventative. Potassium can also be used to lower levels of calcium, to help with certain diseases including Alzheimer’s and Meniere’s. It may also help with some more common issues such as a common allergy, migraines, heavy acne, alcohol abuse, dizziness and confusion, extreme fatigue, recurring constipation, insomnia, anger and aggression, irregular heartbeat and stress. Potassium can either be taken as a supplement by mouth or it can be given intravenously to certain patients who require a faster dosing of the mineral or cannot take it orally.
