TIANEPTINE, a tricyclic antidepressant, is a drug used for the treatment of the major depressive disorder. It was discovered by The French Society of Medical Research in the 1980s. Unlike other tricyclic antidepressants, TIANEPTINE is a selective serotonin reuptake enhancer with minimal effects on norepinephrine and dopamine uptake. Also, it is a full agonist at the mu-opioid and delta-opioid receptors with no effect at the kappa-opioid receptors. Selective mu-opioid agonists typically induce euphoria, which may contribute to TIANEPTINE's antidepressant effect. It is marketed as Coaxil/Stablon in many European countries, but it is not available in the US.

Bamethan (butyl-sympatol or vasculat) is an adrenaline derivative developed by C. H. Boehringer Sohn. Bamethan shows a depressor action on peripheral blood vessels as a result of the peripheral vasodilating action caused by stimulation of adrenergic beta-receptor. Bamethan has been used abroad in the treatment of certain peripheral vascular and circulatory disturbances, such as vasospastic conditions, arteriosclerotic peripheral vascular disease, Raynaud's syndrome, occlusive vascular disease of the legs, the post-thrombotic syndrome, degenerative muscular disorders, and other conditions involving peripheral vascular insuffciency.

DODICIN (Tego-51), one of the amphoteric surfactants based on the dodecyl-di( aminoethyl)-glycine, has been considered as an effctive disinfectant having a broad specturn of antimicrobial activity. Tego-51 disinfectant was effective for the disinfection of commonly isolated bacteria and yeast from hospital. It may be recommended that Tego-51 should be used at concentration greater than 0.1% for the effective disinfection of skin, instruments and hospital floors.

Prozapine (hexadiphane), 1,l-diphenyl-3-hexamethyleneimino propane is a papaverine-like compound with weak anticholinergic activity. It has been used as an antispasmodic in the form of the hydrochloride, in combination with sorbitol, in biliary and gastro-intestinal disorders.

Quifenadine is an antihistaminic agent. Quifenadine both blocks histamine H1-receptors in the peripheral tissues, and activates enzyme diaminoxidase (histaminase), due to this decreasing the histamine concentration in tissues. It is indicated in cases of pollinosis, acute and chronic urticaria, seasonal rhinitis (hay fever), allergic rhinitis, allergic conjunctivitis, angioneurotic Quinqe’s edema, dermatosis (eczema, neurodermatitis, pruritus etc.), allergic reactions caused by food or medicines. Quifanidine exhibits antiarrhythmic activity in children with frequent premature beats, without significant QT prolongation, or sinus node depression.

Patent Blue V (E-131) is a synthetic dye used as a food coloring. In Europe, it is used in beverages, preserves of red fruits, desserts, confectionary. In medicine, Patent Blue V is used as a contrast agent for visualizing lymphatic vessels. Patent Blue V is also used in dentistry in a disclosing tablet to demonstrate the presence of plaque on teeth.
Ethamsylate (2,5-dihydroxy-benzene-sulfonate diethylammonium salt) is a synthetic hemostatic drug indicated in cases of capillary bleeding. Ethamsylate acts on the first step of hemostasis by improving platelet adhesiveness and restoring capillary resistance. In addition it inhibits prostaglandin biosynthesis. Well-controlled clinical trials clearly showed the therapeutic efficacy of ethamsylate in dysfunctional uterine bleeding, with the magnitude of blood-loss reduction being directly proportional to the severity of the menorrhagia. Other well-controlled clinical trials showed therapeutic efficacy of ethamsylate in periventricular hemorrhage in very low birth weight babies and surgical or postsurgical capillary bleeding.

4-tert-Pentylphenol (4-tert-Amylphenol) is used to make phenolic resins (novolaks and resoles), which are used in paints and varnishes and as printing ink resins. The ethoxylated novolaks are used as oil field demulsifiers. Because of the high cost of 4-tert-pentylphenol, which is related to the high cost of the starting material, many of the resin applications have been reformulated using 4-tertbutylphenol. The substance is also used as a germicide in cleaning solutions, although it is being replaced by quaternary ammonium salts. Kegley et al. (2007) confirm that both the substance and its potassium and sodium salts are antimicrobial or fungicidal active ingredients of several disinfectant products that are currently registered with the US authorities. It appears that some of these products are used in animal husbandry, including the control of highly infectious diseases such as avian influenza (US EPA, 2007d). 4-tert-Amylphenol was used as an esterogen receptor (ER) ligand.
Enilconazole is a synthetic broad-spectrum antimycotic with a high activity against most of the common dermatophytes and various other fungi and yeasts. It is a selective inhibitor of ergosterol biosynthesis, an essential component of the cell membrane of fungi and yeasts. This results in irreversible changes which are the origin of the fungicidal effect. Enilconazole is marketed under the brand name Imaverol among others. Imaverol concentrated solution is a synthetic antimycotic with a potent antifungal action against dermatophytes such as: Trichophyton verrucosum, Trichophyton mentagrophytes, Trichophyton equinum, and Microsporum canis in horses and dogs.
