Zomepirac Sodium (Zomax) is a pyrrole-acetic acid structurally related to tolmetin sodium. Zomepirac is a prostaglandin synthetase inhibitor and is not an opioid, an opioid antagonist, or a salicylate. Zomepirac was approved by the Food and Drug Administration for marketing in the United States as an analgesic. It was indicated for all forms of mild to moderately severe pain, and was being promoted as a "comprehensive, non-addicting analgesic." Later Zomepirac was found to be associated with fatal and near-fatal anaphylactoid reactions. The manufacturer voluntarily removed Zomax tablets from the Canadian, US, and UK markets in March 1983.

Etidocaine, marketed under the trade name Duranest, is a local anesthetic given by injection during surgical procedures and labor and delivery. Etidocaine has a long duration of activity, and the main disadvantage of using during dentistry is increased bleeding during surgery. Etidocaine stabilizes the neuronal membrane by inhibiting the ionic fluxes required for the initiation and conduction of impulses, thereby effecting local anesthetic action.

Enflurane (2-chloro-1,1,2,-trifluoroethyl-difluoromethyl ether) is a halogenated ether structural isomer of isoflurane. Developed by Ross Terrell in 1963, it was first used clinically in 1966. It was increasingly used for inhalational anesthesia during the 1970s and 1980s but is no longer in common use. Clinically, enflurane produces a dose-related depression of myocardial contractility with an associated decrease in myocardial oxygen consumption. Between 2% and 5% of the inhaled dose is oxidized in the liver, producing fluoride ions and difluoromethoxy-difluoroacetic acid. This is significantly higher than the metabolism of its structural isomer isoflurane. The exact mechanism of the action of general anesthetics has not been delineated. Enflurane acts as a positive allosteric modulator of the GABAA, glycine, and 5-HT3 receptors, and as a negative allosteric modulator of the AMPA, kainate, and NMDA receptors, as well as of nicotinic acetylcholine receptors.

Levomepromazine (also known as methotrimeprazine) is a phenothiazine neuroleptic drug. It is sold in many countries under the generic name (levomepromazine) or under brand names such as Nozinan, Detenler and many more. Levomepromazine is an antipsychotic drug is commonly used as an antiemetic to alleviate nausea and vomiting in palliative care settings particularly in terminal illness. Levomepromazine is a phenothiazine with pharmacological activity similar to that of both chlorpromazine and promethazine. It has the histamine-antagonist properties of the antihistamines together with central nervous system effects resembling those of chlorpromazine. Levomepromazine's antipsychotic effect is largely due to its antagonism of dopamine receptors in the brain. In addition, it can block 5HT2 receptors and some others, like histamine, serotonin.

Methoxyflurane is an inhalation anesthetic. Methoxyflurane was used for surgical, obstetric, or dental anesthesia, but was withdrawn from US market due to safety concerns, but is still in use in Australia and other countries. Methoxyflurane induces muscle relaxation and reduces pains sensitivity by altering tissue excitability by decreasing the extent of gap junction mediated cell-cell coupling and altering the activity of the channels that underlie the action potential.

Pyrrocaine is the amide local anesthetics. It is metabolized to 2,6-xylidine. It was used mainly as an infiltration and nerve block dental anesthetic in the 1960s and favored due to its rapid onset. The potency of pyrrocaine equals that of lidocaine in both sensory and motor nerve blocking. Pyrrocaine provided to be somewhat less toxic than lidocaine. No methemoglobinemia was clinically observed. It has been classified as unsafe for use in acute porphyria. There is no evidence that it is currently used commercially.

Diethylamine salicylate is a salicylic acid salt, that is a cost-effective and simple, first-line treatment for rheumatic and minor musculoskeletal conditions including lumbago, fibrositis, sciatica, bruises, and strains. Salicylic acid directly and irreversibly inhibits the activity of both types of cyclo-oxygenases (COX-1 and COX-2) to decrease the formation of precursors of prostaglandins and thromboxanes from arachidonic acid. Salicylate's antirheumatic (nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory) actions are a result of its analgesic and anti-inflammatory mechanisms.
