Iomethin I-131 is radioiodinated quinoline derivative with potential tumor localizing activity. In animal models, Iomethin I-131 administrations lead to regression of the malignant melanoma and its metastases.

Imanixil (also known as HOE-402) was developed as a potent cholesterol-lowering compound, which inhibits VLDL production, and consequently attenuates atherosclerosis development. This drug participated in phase I clinical trial for the treatment of hyperlipidemia, however, this study was discontinued.

Soretolide is an orally active benzamide derivative with anticonvulsant effects and a similar profile of activity to carbamazepine. In animal models, soretolide showed an anticonvulsant profile similar to carbamazepine, being active in the maximal electroshock test and poorly active against pentylenetetrazole-induced seizures. Researchers at the University of Washington, USA and Laboratoires Biocodex, France were investigating the potential use of soretolide as an anticonvulsant. However, development of the compound appears to have been discontinued.

Meobentine is an antiarrhythmic agent. Meobentine significantly increases the electrical ventricular fibrillation threshold in animal models. Meobentine may prevent induction of ventricular tachycardia or fibrillation, or reduce frequency of complex ventricular ectopy in selected patients refractory to other antiarrhythmic agents, but the response rate is relatively low.

Rimcazole is a carbazole derivative that acts as a sigma receptor antagonist and studied as potential antipsychotic agent for the treatment of acute schizophrenic patients. In open-clinical trials Rimcazole (BW 234U) appears to be effective in acute schizophrenic patients. However, subsequent clinical trials demonstrated that rimcazole lacked efficacy in schizophrenic patients and it is now primarily used as an experimental tool. In addition to its actions as  receptor antagonist, rimcazole also has high affinity for dopamine transporters, and inrecent years it has served as a lead compound for the development of novel dopamine transporter ligands.

Protheobromine is a derivative of the xanthine alkaloid theobromine with diuretic and vasodilating activity.

Iotasulis a triiodoaminoisophthalic acid derivative patented by Schering A.-G. as a water-soluble contrast medium. Iotasul is very suitable for subepidermal infusion (indirect lymphography) for the demonstration of small (initial) dermal lymphatics in the macro-range (precollectors). By this method, normal lymph vessels can be demonstrated in the healthy skin of hands and feet which are so fine that they cannot be punctured for direct lymphography.

Pirepolol is the beta-adrenergic blocking agent. It was developed as an antihypertensive agent.
