Conditions:

Amicarbazone is a new triazolinone herbicide with a broad spectrum of weed control. The phenotypic responses of sensitive plants exposed to amicarbazone include chlorosis, stunted growth, tissue necrosis, and death. Its efficacy as both a foliar- and root-applied herbicide suggests that absorption and translocation of this compound is very rapid. This new herbicide is a potent inhibitor of photosynthetic electron transport, inducing chlorophyll fluorescence and interrupting oxygen evolution ostensibly via binding to the Qb domain of photosystem II (PSII) in a manner similar to the triazines and the triazinones classes of herbicides.

Azoxystrobin is the first of a new class of pesticidal compounds called ß-methoxyacrylates, which are derived from the naturally-occurring strobilurins. Azoxystrobin is a broad spectrum fungicide with activity against several diseases on many edible crops and ornamental plants. Some diseases controlled or prevented are rice blast, rusts, downy mildew, powdery mildew, late blight, apple scab, and Septoria. Azoxystrobin is marketed by Syngenta as single AS products under several trade names, the major ones for crop protection being: Amistar, Abound, Priori, Quadris, Dynasty for seed treatments, and Heritage for turf. Azoxystrobin (AZOX), a Qo inhibitor of mitochondrial respiratory complex III, exerts whole-body beneficial effects on the regulation of glucose and lipid homeostasis in high-fat diet-fed mice. Chronic treatment with AZOX reduced body weight and significantly improved glucose tolerance and insulin sensitivity in high-fat diet-fed mice. AZOX treatment resulted in decreased triacylglycerol accumulation and down-regulated the expression of genes involved in liver lipogenesis. AZOX increased glucose uptake in L6 myotubes and 3T3-L1 adipocytes and inhibited de novo lipogenesis in HepG2 cells.

Oxyfluorfen is a selective pre and post-emergent herbicide. It is a contact herbicide and light is required for it to affect target plants. Oxyfluorfen can be used on weed-free soil to prevent germination of a wide variety of weeds or it can be applied to existing weeds at seedling stage especially with a tank mix partner to increase the variety of weeds controlled and/or the length of residual control. Oxyfluorfen can also be added at a low rate as a ‘spike’ to glyphosate or paraquat and diquat/paraquat herbicides to improve knockdown. It is available in emulsifiable concentrate and granular formulations.

Conditions:

Androstenol (5α-androst-16-en-3α-ol), a pheromone that acts as a potent positive allosteric modulator of the GABA-A receptor. Androstenol was first isolated from boar testes, and several animal experiments suggest that androstenol is capable of reducing anxiety, as well as hippocampal epileptogenic activity. It was subsequently detected in humans, (primarily in males), in sweat, urine, plasma, and saliva. Androstenol is also shown to affect hormonal, behavioral and social responses in humans. In animals, androstenol has been found to produce anxiolytic-like, antidepressant-like and anticonvulsant effects.
