Romurtide (Muroctasin) is a non-specific immune stimulant derived from muramyl dipeptide, which is obtained from gram-positive bacterial cell walls. Muroctasin stimulates macrophages, which release interleukin-l, which in turn increases production of colony-stimulating factors; muroctasin also evokes an increased production of neutrophils. It is used in Japan for chemotherapy-induced leukopenia.

Buserelin is a synthetic peptide analog of the luteinizing hormone-releasing hormone (LHRH) agonist, which stimulates the pituitary gland's gonadotrophin-releasing hormone receptor (GnRHR). Buserelin is used for palliative treatment of prostate cancer, and for treatment of endometriosis. Buserelin is also used for infertility treatment to prepare the pituitary gland before starting treatment with gonadotrophins (FSH and LH) to artificially stimulate ovulation.
a-Hydroxytriazolam is a major urinary and blood metabolite of the benzodiazepine, triazolam, a pharmaceutical used to treat severe insomnia. It is suitable for use in LC/MS or GC/MS applications for clinical toxicology, forensic analysis, urine drug testing, or pharmaceutical research. Triazolam is a triazolobenzodiazepine with hypnotic properties, advocated for use in acute or chronic insomnia, situational insomnia in hospitalised patients, and insomnia associated with other disease states. As triazolam has a relatively short half-life of about 2 to 3 hours in healthy subjects and has only 1 short acting active metabolite, alpha-hydroxytriazolam. a-Hydroxytriazolam is reported to have 50 to 100 % of the pharmacological activity of the parent compound. Triazolam (marketed in English-speaking countries under the brand names Apo-Triazo, Halcion, Hypam, and Trilam) is a benzodiazepine drug. It possesses pharmacological properties similar to that of other benzodiazepines, but it is generally only used as a sedative to treat severe insomnia. In addition to the hypnotic properties triazolam possesses, amnesic, anxiolytic, sedative, anticonvulsant and muscle relaxant properties are also present.

Morinidazole is a novel third generation 5-nitroimidazole-class antimicrobial agent indicated for the treatment of anaerobic bacterial infections including appendicitis and pelvic inflammatory disease. Morinidazole is administered as a racemate. Morinidazole was approved by China Food and Drug Administration (CFDA) on February, 2014. The bactericidal activity of morinidazole, depends on the formation of a redox intermediate metabolite in the bacterium that causes DNA strand breakage, inhibits repair, and, ultimately leads to cell death. The main adverse effects (all are mild) relate to the drug are dizziness, drowsiness and nausea. Recent in vitro assays have demonstrated that higher antiparasitic potency is observed in S- morinidazole than in R-morinidazole.

Framycetin is a component of neomycin that is produced by Streptomyces fradiae. Framycetin is used for the treatment of bacterial eye infections such as conjunctivitis. Framycetin is an antibiotic. It is not active against fungi, viruses and most kinds of anaerobic bacteria. Framycetin works by binding to the bacterial 30S ribosomal subunit, causing misreading of t-RNA, leaving the bacterium unable to synthesize proteins vital to its growth. Framycetin is useful primarily in infections involving aerobic bacteria bacteria. Framycetin binds to specific 30S-subunit proteins and 16S rRNA, four nucleotides of 16S rRNA and a single amino acid of protein S12. This interferes with decoding site in the vicinity of nucleotide 1400 in 16S rRNA of 30S subunit. This region interacts with the wobble base in the anticodon of tRNA. This leads to interference with the initiation complex, misreading of mRNA so incorrect amino acids are inserted into the polypeptide leading to nonfunctional or toxic peptides and the breakup of polysomes into nonfunctional monosomes. Framycetin is a component of SOFRACORT (Framycetin sulphate - Gramicidin-dexamethasone), indicated for the treatment of blepharitis and infected eczema of the eyelid; allergic, infective and rosacea conjunctivitis; rosacea keratitis; scleritis and episcleritis; iridocyclitis, and other inflammatory conditions of the anterior segment of the eye, as well as otitis externa (acute and chronic) and other inflammatory and sebhorrheic conditions of the external ear.
Masitinib is a new orally administered tyrosine kinase inhibitor that targets mast cells and macrophages, important cells for immunity, through inhibiting a limited number of kinases. Based on its unique mechanism of action, masitinib can be developed in a large number of conditions in oncology, in inflammatory diseases, and in certain diseases of the central nervous system. In oncology due to its immunotherapy effect, masitinib can have an effect on survival, alone or in combination with chemotherapy. Through its activity on mast cells and consequently the inhibition of the activation of the inflammatory process, masitinib can have an effect on the symptoms associated with some inflammatory and central nervous system diseases and the degeneration of these diseases. AB Science is developing masitinib in multiple sclerosis and alzheimer's disease. Masitinib targets kinases, including c-Kit, PDGFR, and Lyn. It is used in the treatment of mast cell tumors in animals, specifically dogs. Since its introduction in November 2008 it has been distributed under the commercial name Masivet. It has been available in Europe since the second part of 2009. In the USA it is distributed under the name Kinavet.
Xamoterol (ICI 118,587) is a partial agonist of beta1-adrenoceptors. Xamoterol acts on the cardiac beta 1-adrenergic receptor, modifies the response of the heart to variations in sympathetic activity. At rest, it produces modest improvements in cardiac contractility, relaxation, and filling without increase in myocardial oxygen demand. The improvements are maintained during exercise although the attendant tachycardia is attenuated. The beneficial effects of xamoterol on both systolic and diastolic function suggested that it would be effective in patients with mild-to-moderate heart failure, and this was demonstrated in small placebo-controlled studies where effort tolerance and symptoms were improved. Xamoterol produced improvements in exercise capacity, clinical signs, symptoms and quality of life with a low incidence of adverse experiences. Xamoterol is effective as monotherapy in heart failure.

Rilmenidine (brand names Albarel, Hyperium, Iterium and Tenaxum) is an imidazoline derivative used for the treatment of hypertension. Rilmenidine, an oxazoline compound with antihypertensive properties, acts on both medullary and peripheral vasomotor structures. Rilmenidine shows greater selectivity for imidazoline receptors than for cerebral alpha2-adrenergic receptors, distinguishing it from reference alpha2-agonists. Rilmenidine is as effective in monotherapy as all other first line classes of drugs, including diuretics, beta-blockers, angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors, and calcium antagonists. It is well tolerated and can be taken in combination for greater efficacy. Sedation and dry mouth are not prominent side effects and withdrawal hypertension is not seen when treatment is stopped abruptly. In addition to a reduction in blood pressure, Rilmenidine has been shown to improve glucose tolerance, lipid risk factors, and insulin sensitivity.
