Atosiban (brand name Tractocile) is a competitive antagonist of human oxytocin at receptor level. In rats and guinea pigs, atosiban was shown to bind to oxytocin receptors, to decrease the frequency of contractions and
the tone of the uterine musculature, resulting in a suppression of uterine contractions. Atosiban was also shown to bind to the vasopressin receptor, thus inhibiting the effect of vasopressin. Tractocile is indicated to delay imminent pre-term birth in pregnant adult women with:
− regular uterine contractions of at least 30 seconds duration at a rate of ≥ 4 per 30 minutes
− a cervical dilation of 1 to 3 cm (0-3 for nulliparas) and effacement of ≥ 50%
− a gestational age from 24 until 33 completed weeks
− a normal foetal heart rate.
Atosiban does not have U.S. Food and Drug

It was developed and marketed as Orapenem® by Meiji Seika in Japan. Tebipenem pivoxil is a broad-spectrum orally-administered antibiotic, from the carbapenem subgroup of β-lactam antibiotics. Carbapenems are a class of beta-lactam antibiotics, which act by inhibiting the synthesis of the peptidoglycan layer of bacterial cell walls. It is used to treat otorhinolaryngological infection, otitis media and bacterial pneumonia. Orapenem® is available as granules for oral use, containing 100 mg Tebipenem pivoxil/g granules. According to the weight of children, 4 mg/kg, and twice a day after dinner.

Dalbavancin is a mixture of five closely related active homologs (A0, A1, B0, B1, and B2); the component B0 is the major component of dalbavancin. The predominant component of dalbavancin is Factor B0, which accounts for >75% of the whole complex. Dalbavancin is a second-generation lipoglycopeptide antibiotic that was designed to improve on the natural glycopeptides currently available, such as vancomycin and teicoplanin. Modifications from these older glycoprotein classes allowed a similar mechanism of action with increased activity and once weekly dosing. Its use is indicated for the treatment of acute bacterial skin and skin structure infections (ABSSSI) caused by the following gram-positive microorganisms: Staphylococcus aureus (including methicillin-susceptible and methicillin-resistant strains), S. pyogenes, S. agalactiae, and S. anginosus group (including S. anginosus, S. intermedius, and S. constellatus). Under the brand name DALVANCE Dalbavancin is indicated for acute bacterial skin and skin structure infections (ABSSSI) caused by designated susceptible strains of Gram-positive microorganisms. The bactericidal action of dalbavancin results primarily from inhibition of cell-wall biosynthesis. Specifically, dalbavancin prevents incorporation of N-acetylmuramic acid (NAM)- and N-acetylglucosamine (NAG)-peptide subunits from being incorporated into the peptidoglycan matrix; which forms the major structural component of Gram-positive cell walls. The large hydrophilic molecule is able to form hydrogen bond interactions with the terminal D-alanyl-D-alanine moieties of the NAM/NAG-peptides, which is normally a five-point interaction. Binding of dalbavancin to the D-Ala-D-Ala prevents the incorporation of the NAM/NAG-peptide subunits into the peptidoglycan matrix. In addition, dalbavancin alters bacterial-cell-membrane permeability and RNA synthesis.

Ethamsylate (2,5-dihydroxy-benzene-sulfonate diethylammonium salt) is a synthetic hemostatic drug indicated in cases of capillary bleeding. Ethamsylate acts on the first step of hemostasis by improving platelet adhesiveness and restoring capillary resistance. In addition it inhibits prostaglandin biosynthesis. Well-controlled clinical trials clearly showed the therapeutic efficacy of ethamsylate in dysfunctional uterine bleeding, with the magnitude of blood-loss reduction being directly proportional to the severity of the menorrhagia. Other well-controlled clinical trials showed therapeutic efficacy of ethamsylate in periventricular hemorrhage in very low birth weight babies and surgical or postsurgical capillary bleeding.

Dimethindene (+)- is one of Dimethindene enantiomer that is a subtype-selective M2 muscarinic receptor antagonist. Dimetindene (trade name Fenistil; other name dimethindene maleate) is a potent antipruritic antihistamine, characterized by the small size of its effective dose and its rapidity of action. Dimetindene is an antihistamine/anticholinergic that is a selective H1 antagonist. Its effect sets in after 20 to 60 minutes and lasts several hours. Dimetindene drops as well as Dimetindene syrup is particularly indicated in pediatric practice. Dimetindene is indicated as symptomatic treatment of allergic reactions: urticaria, allergies of the upper respiratory tract such as hay fever and perennial rhinitis, food, and drug allergies; pruritus of various origins, except pruritus due to cholestasis; insect bites. Dimetindene is also indicated for pruritus in eruptive skin diseases such as chickenpox. Dimetindene can be as an adjuvant in eczema and other pruriginous dermatoses of allergic origin.

PR-69 (Doranidazole) is a hypoxic radiosensitizer, and is a derivative of 2-nitroimidazole intended to reduce neurotoxicity due to its blood brain barrier (BBB) impermeability. Several studies have shown that doranidazole has a radiosensitizing effect under hypoxia, both in vitro and in vivo. Based on these studies, a phase III trial of doranidazole against advanced pancreatic cancer was performed; it was demonstrated that treatment with doranidazole following radiation significantly improved the tumor mass reduction rate and extended patient survival. Various results have suggested that doranidazole has promising potential for hypoxia-targeting chemoradiotherapy.
