Copper aspartate is intended to be used as sources for copper in food supplements. Aspartates are taken by mouth to increase the absorption of mineral supplements. Studies have linked copper deficiencies to heart disease via elevated LDL ("bad") cholesterol levels and the lowering of HDL ("good") cholesterol. There's also a link to copper deficiencies and high blood pressure. One of the early signs of copper deficiency is osteoporosis. Other signs of deficiency of copper include: anemia, skin sores, diarrhea, baldness, skeletal deformities, impaired respiratory function, loss of skin color, general weakness, and nerve degeneration.
