Ziprasidone is atypical antipsychotic, approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for the treatment of schizophrenia, and acute mania and mixed states associated with bipolar disorder. Intramuscilar injections of Ziprasidone are indicated for rapid control of the agitation in schizophrenic patients.
