Almasilate is an antacid compound, consisting of a crystalline aluminum/magnesium silicate polymer. It guffers gastric acid by binding hydrogen ions within the polymer. It has been used in peptic ulcers and dyspepsia and marketed under the tradename Malinal, however, its therapeutic efficacy was lower than that of other approved antacids.
Sodium dehydroacetate, a water-soluble antiseptic, is a food and feed additive with antimicrobial effects. Recently published studies have shown that sodium dehydroacetate in patients with leg ulcers could cause allergic contact dermatitis.

Sodium chlorite (NaClO2), a sodium salt of chlorite ion, is used as a disinfectant in water treatment and as a component in therapeutic rinses and gels. NaClO2 is an active ingredient of veterinary solution AZTEC GOLD, which is used to reduce the spread of organisms, which may cause mastitis in cows. NaClO2 can increase production of reactive oxygen species, which cause the oxidative stress in human erythrocytes, and as a result, the res cell senescence.

Nicarbazin, a complex of two compounds, 4,4'-dinitrocarbanilide (DNC) and 4,6-dimethyl-2-pyrimidinol (HDP) is an effective drug for preventing intestinal and caecal coccidiosis in poultry. It is used for prevention rather than the treatment of disease. Nicarbazin was the first agent with “broad‐spectrum” activity against Eimeria spp. of chickens. Nicarbazin is used as a single agent or in combination with polyether antibiotics (narasin, or maduramicin), roxarsone, or antibiotics (lincomycin, bacitracin, flavomycin) for prevention and control of coccidiosis caused by Eimeria spp. (all relevant species) in broiler chickens. Nicarbazin can cause increased sensitivity to heat stress, which may result in growth depression and even mortality in broilers; death may be due to cell degeneration processes in liver and kidneys; at the recommended dose, the drug causes occasionally toxic effects in laying hens like reduced hatchability and interruption of egg-laying. Nicarbazin interferes with the formation of the vitelline membrane, separating the egg yolk and egg white. The exact mode of action is unknown, although it is thought nicarbazin interferes with cholesterol metabolism in the formation of the membrane.

Amprolium Hydrochloride is a broad spectrum, potent coccidiostat (anti-protozoal) used for the treatment and prevention of Coccidiosis in cattle, goats, sheep, and poultry (chicken and turkey) in veterinary. Amprolium probably acts by inhibiting thiamine uptake by parasites and thus creates disorders in the metabolism of parasites.
Palmitic acid is a saturated fatty acid, the principal constituent of refined palm oil, present in the diet and synthesized endogenously. Palmitic acid is able to activate the orphan G protein-coupled receptor GPR40. Palmitic acid was also a weak ligand of peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma. Palmitic acid is a ligand of lipid chaperones - the fatty acid-binding proteins (FABPs). Dietary palm oil and palmitic acid may play a role in the development of obesity, type 2 diabetes mellitus, cardiovascular diseases and cancer.

Readily soluble in water, SnF2 is hydrolysed. At low concentration, it forms species such as SnOH+, Sn(OH)2 and Sn(OH)3−. At higher concentrations, predominantly polynuclear species are formed, including Sn2(OH)22+ and Sn3(OH)42+. Aqueous solutions readily oxidise to form insoluble precipitates of SnIV, which are ineffective as a dental prophylactic. Tin(II) fluoride, commonly referred to commercially (with tin(II) in Latin) as stannous fluoride, is a chemical compound with the formula SnF2. It is a colorless solid used as an ingredient in toothpastes that are typically more expensive than those that use sodium fluoride. Stannous fluoride has both bactericidal and bacteriostatic properties, which fight plaque and treat/prevent gingivitis. The stannous fluoride also deposits a protective mineral barrier over exposed dentinal tubules to help prevent sensitivity pain from triggers such as hot or cold liquids and foods. Stannous fluoride is used under the trade name "Fluoristan" in the original formulation of the toothpaste Crest, though it was later replaced with sodium monofluorophosphate, or "Fluoristat". It is the active ingredient in Crest Pro Health brand toothpaste. Crest Pro Health issues a warning on the tube that stannous fluoride may cause staining, which can be avoided by proper brushing, and that its particular formulation is resistant to staining. Any stannous fluoride staining that occurs due to improper brushing is not permanent. Stannous fluoride is also used in Oral-B Pro-Expert. Stannous fluoride is also readily available in over-the-counter rinses.
