Tarafenacin (also known as SVT-40776) was developed as muscarinic M3 receptor antagonist for the treatment of overactive bladder. The drug participated in phase II clinical trial in patients suffering from overactive bladder, where both dose levels of tarafenacin were well tolerated. However, information about the further development of tarafenacin is not available.

Dropempine (Abdoman) is ganglionic blocking agent. It is antihypertensive and anti-ulcerogenic drug. Dropempine has proved in the treatment of patients with uncomplicated duodenal ulcer. On the basis of its pronounced motility inhibiting effect on the gastrointestinal canal it may be additionally used for the treatment of diarrhoea. It is reported on 5 patients in which under Abdoman therapy a paralytic ileus developed as severe complication, so that it must be warned of an uncontrolled prescription of abdoman concerning this indication.

Bipenamol is a benzenemethanol derivative used to prepare novel semicarbazide-derived inhibitors of human dipeptidyl peptidase I.

Trixolane is a spasmolytic, vasodilator, choleretic agent.

Abediterol, a fast and long-acting β2-adrenoceptor agonist (LABA), is being developed by AstraZeneca, for the treatment of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. The investigational drug is a long-acting beta2-agonist (LABA) that has a bronchodilator effect, relaxing the muscles around the airways. It is currently under development and is in Phase II clinical trials.

Vincanol is an alkaloid derived from vinca. The drug possesses hypotensive and vasodilating properties which justify its use in cardiovascular therapy. In vitro studies in rats demonstrated that vincanol may act by blocking voltage-gated Na+ channels.

Resiniferatoxin (RTX or RTX-107) is a vanilloid derived from a cactus-like plant (Euphoria resiniferous) and has anti-inflammatory activity. This compound is an agonist of the transient receptor potential vanilloid 1 (TRPV1). Resiniferatoxin produces analgesia by desensitizing the TRPV1 receptor. Findings of several studies have suggested a potential therapeutic use of the anti-inflammatory effect of resiniferatoxin. Phase I and II clinical trials have been completed or are underway, evaluating the safety and efficacy of resiniferatoxin in pain-related disorders such as osteoarthritis and cancers.

Tribendilol is a beta-adrenoceptor antagonist. Tribendilol has significant antihypertensive action but is associated with a high incidence of orthostatic side effects.
