M40419 (now GC4419) is a Mn(II)-containing pentaazamacrocyclic selective superoxide dismutase mimetic. It is a first-in-class, small molecule enzyme mimetic that converts superoxide to hydrogen peroxide and molecular oxygen. GC4419 is currently being evaluated in an ongoing randomized Phase 2 clinical trial to assess its effect on the incidence, severity and duration of severe oral mucositis (OM) when given to patients with squamous cell cancers of the head and neck in combination with radiation and chemotherapy. GC4419 has received Breakthrough Therapy and Fast Track designations from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

Rodocaine (R 22.700) is a biochemical that was found to be an effective anesthetic in ophthalmology. This compound is suitable for topical use but can be injected as well. A pharmaceutically acceptable, acid-addition salt of rodocaine can be prepared by reaction of the rodocaine free base with the desired acid. Rodocaine has furthermore been mentioned as a potential anesthetic agent in antimicrobial compositions.

Targets:
Nastorazepide (Z-360) is a selective, orally available, gastrin/cholecystokinin 2 (CCK-2) receptor antagonist with potential antineoplastic activity. Z-360 binds to the gastrin/CCK-2 receptor, thereby preventing receptor activation by gastrin, a peptide hormone frequently associated with the proliferation of gastrointestinal and pancreatic tumor cells. It is currently under development as a therapeutic drug for pancreatic cancer, gastroesophageal reflux disease and peptic ulcers. The most commonly reported adverse events were nausea, abdominal pain, vomiting and fatigue.
