Carbocloral is a carbamate ester derivative used as sedative and hypnotic drug. Carbocloral is as effective as chloral hydrate in producing sedation, hypnosis, and general anesthesia, and more effective in inducing relaxation of skeletal muscles. Carbocloral was also more effective as an anticonvulsant and less toxic than chloral hydrate.

Procymate is a cyclohexylpropyl derivative patented by Compagnie Francaise des Matieres Colorantes as a non-hypnogenic depressor of the nervous system.
Amelubant, its metabolite BIIL 260 (formed by removal of the ethoxycarbonyl protecting group), and its major metabolite BIIL 315 (formed by removal of the protecting group and glucuronidation) had potent in vitro and in vivo Leukotriene B4 receptor antagonistic properties. Amelubant has been in phase II clinical trials by Boehringer Ingelheim for the treatment of cystic fibrosis, chronic obstructive pulmonay disease, bronchial asthma and rheumatoid arthritis. However, this research has been discontinued. In 2002, orphan drug designation was received in E.U. for the treatment of cystic fibrosis. Serious adverse events of Amelubant were characterized by increased presentation of respiratory signs and/or symptoms associated with pulmonary exacerbation and resulted in admission to a hospital and/or administration of IV antibiotics.

Compound M24 is a selective angiotensin II AT2 receptor agonist with a Ki value of 0.4 nM for the AT2 receptor. Compound enhances in vivo duodenal alkaline secretion in Sprague-Dawley rats, and lowers the mean arterial blood pressure in anesthetized, spontaneously hypertensive rats. In a mouse model of atherosclerosis, plaque size and stability were improved in ApoE‐/‐ mice treated with M24. Treatment with M24 resulted in decrease in scar size and reduction in markers of inflammation in a rat model of myocardial infaction.
