Acetyltannic acid is an astringent (intestinal) for foals, calves, dogs. It is used for treatment of diarrhoea.
Orvepitant is a novel generation brain penetrant, selective and potent, small molecule NK-1 receptor antagonist. Orvepitant’s (GW823296) mode of action and developability characteristics made it a suitable development candidate for the treatment of common anxiety disorders, posttraumatic stress disorder and major depressive disorder. It’s in phase II clinical trials as an effective inhibitor of itch-associated response.

Hexacyclonic Acid (aka gevilon) has been clinically demonstrated to produce hypolipidemic effects. It has been investigated as a treatment for coronary heart disease, and hypertensive disease with severe lipid metabolic disturbances. Gevilon has been found to have a hypolipidemic effect in reducing the levels of total cholesterol, beta-cholesterol, triglycerides, increasing alpha-cholesterol levels and normalizing the atherogenicity coefficient; especially in patients with Type IIb dyslipoproteinemia.

Ganglefene is a coronary vasodilator. This n-cholinoblocker was originally studied for its effects on coronary circulation in angina pectoris. Animal studies have also shown shortened recovery period of motor functions after ganglefene administration. One rodent study showed that modulation of the n-cholinergic system by ganglefene in the developing fetal brain leads to changes in the quantitative and qualitative characteristics of elements of sexual behavior in pubescent offspring.

Nifuralide, a 5-nitrofuran derivative, is an antibacterial agent. It was used for controlling Salmonella choleraesuis in swine. The mode of action of 5-nitrofuran analogues is based on red-ox biotransformation.

Ioglucomide is triiodoanilide derivative patented by Mallinckrodt, Inc. as nonionic x-ray contrast media for myelography. In preclinical studies the efficacy of ioglucomide and metrizamide were comparable. However, acute toxicity after intravenous injection or installation into cerebrospinal fluid was significantly less for ioglucomide. Also, in contrast to metrizamide, ioglucomide produced no evidence of any type of convulsive activity after subarachnoid administration.

response, while the remaining 7 patients were too far advanced to respond to these treatments. Benaxibine (also known as paraaminobenzoic acid-N-xyloside or K-247) was developed as an antitumor drug. Benaxibine participated in several clinical trials. However, for the positive application of the drug further studies were needed.
