Dimethocaine (DMC, larocaine), a synthetic derivative of cocaine, is a widely distributed "legal high" consumed as a "new psychoactive substance" (NPS), originally was used in the 1930s as an anesthetic, primarily in dentistry, ophthalmology, and otolaryngology.
