2-(L-MENTHOXY)ETHANOL is used as a food additive and it has been described as bland and odorless with a minty aroma. There are currently no safety concerns regarding the use of this compound (latest evaluation 2008). It belongs to the class of organic compounds known as menthane monoterpenoids.
Sodium Ursolate (Ursolic acid sodium salt) is a natural active ingredient derived from many plants. This pentacyclic triterpenoid acid is manufactured by extraction of Salvia officinalis leaves, also known as common sage, Loquat leaves and Olea europea. Sodium Ursolate provides a targeted approach to anti-aging skin repair and sun protection through reactivation, protection and optimization of the skins own cellular mechanisms. Furthermore, it protects and refolds proteins damaged by UV and free radical exposure and stimulates new collagen synthesis to counter the effects of thinning and sagging skin caused by photodamage, inhibits elastase and stabilizes liposomal membranes. It is of most interest to use in Anti-Aging and Anti-Photo-Aging cosmetics products.

Monensin is an antibiotic produced as a byproduct of fermentation by Streptomyces cinnamonensis and belongs to a family of drugs known as polyether antibiotics or ionophores. The drug was approved by FDA for the prevention of coccidiosis in turkeys, chickens, quail, cattle, goats, calves (Coban, Rumensin). The exact mechanism of monesin action is unknown, however there are several hypotesis, which includes the inhibition of K+ transport, the inhibition of the transport of carbohydrates across the host cell membrane, the interruption host cell invasion by sporozoites, etc.

Nicotinamide adenine nucleotide (NAD) is a cofactor found in all living cells. It exists in oxidized form (NAD+) and reduced form (NADH). NADH is found widely in nature and is involved in numerous enzymatic reactions in which it serves as an electron carrier by being alternately oxidized (NAD+) and reduced (NADH). NADH supplements are used for improving mental clarity, alertness, concentration, and memory; as well as for treating Alzheimer’s disease and dementia. Because of its role in energy production, NADH is also used for improving athletic performance and treating chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS). Some people use NADH for treating high blood pressure, high cholesterol, jet lag, depression, and Parkinson’s disease; opposing alcohol’s effects on the liver; reducing signs of aging; protecting against the side effects of an AIDS drug called zidovudine (AZT).

NADIDE (NAD+) is a coenzyme composed of ribosylnicotinamide 5'-diphosphate coupled to adenosine 5'-phosphate by pyrophosphate linkage. NADIDE was marketed under the brand name Enada. Although Enada (NADH) is marketed as a nutritional supplement, Birkmayer Pharmaceuticals has launched two clinical trials to prove scientifically that Enada is effective. Before these studies could get started they had to also prove to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) that the stable oral form of Enada (NADH) is a safe substance. Since the mid-‘80s more than 3,000 parkinsonian patients have received NADH, either as intravenous infusion or in the form of oral tablets. Enada (NADH) is the world‘s first and only stabilized, absorbable, patented, tablet-form NADH dietary supplement. It is now available to everyone whose lifestyle demands increased energy, vitality and mental clarity. In other words, it is beneficial not only for patients suffering from chronic fatigue syndrome, Alzheimer‘s disease, depression or Parkinson‘s disease, but for any normal, healthy individual whose lifestyle demands more energy. NADIDE (NADH) may be considered as a therapeutic adjunct for cancer patients to protect them against the general toxic effects of substances such as doxorubicin or cisplatin by stimulating the DNA repair system and by promoting normal cellular biosynthetic responses after chemotherapy. NADH seems to exhibit a chemo preventive effect.
