Bisindolylmaleimide IV is a cell-permeable potent and somewhat selective inhibitor of PKC (IC50 = 87 nM), designed to be more selective than the general protein kinase inhibitor staurosporine (sc-3510). However, bisindolymaleimide IV also inhibits protein kinase A (PKA), with an IC50 = 2.7 uM. Bisindolylmaleimide IV was very weak and inhibited [3H] N-methyl scopolamine binding only at the highest concentration used. Bbisindolylmaleimide IV, targets quiescent PKC and stabilizes PKC in the quiescent conformation, which generates slower activation and suppressed translocation upon activation of PKC.

Amicarbazone is a new triazolinone herbicide with a broad spectrum of weed control. The phenotypic responses of sensitive plants exposed to amicarbazone include chlorosis, stunted growth, tissue necrosis, and death. Its efficacy as both a foliar- and root-applied herbicide suggests that absorption and translocation of this compound is very rapid. This new herbicide is a potent inhibitor of photosynthetic electron transport, inducing chlorophyll fluorescence and interrupting oxygen evolution ostensibly via binding to the Qb domain of photosystem II (PSII) in a manner similar to the triazines and the triazinones classes of herbicides.

7-oxodehydroabietic acid, a resin acid found in both aerosol from soldering with rosin flux and in rosin solids. In a murine model, conjugation (haptenation) of resin acids to proteins is required to generate antibodies against rosin. Conjugation of L-lysine to 7-oxodehydroabietic acid was predicted, with a Schiff base (or imine) linkage formed between C-7 of the resin acid and a free amino group of lysine. Resin acids accumulate in the plasma membrane, a non-aqueous environment apparently conducive to conjugation of 7-oxodehydroabietic acid with lysine side chains of membrane proteins. The result would be dehydroabietic acid covalently bound to protein, which could lead to interaction with immune cells having resin acid specificity. The haptenation mechanism presented may be involved in allergic contact dermatitis and occupational asthma observed from exposure to resin acid solids and aerosols.

P-nitrotoluene is an organic compound with the formula CH3C6H4NO2. It is mainly used to prepare dyes. Intermediate for drugs namely Para Amino Benzoic Acid, Benzocaine, Procaine Hydrochloride, Thioacetazone, Folic Acid etc. used in TNT- an intermediate for explosive. p-Nitrotoluene is used to synthesize agricultural and rubber chemicals, azo and sulfur dyes, and dyes for cotton, wool, silk, leather, and paper.
Adrenosterone (androst-4-ene-3,11,17-trione, 11-oxoandrostenedione) is an endogenous steroid hormone that has been promoted as a dietary supplement capable of reducing body fat and increasing muscle mass. Adrenosterone has shown to be converted into 11-ketotestosterone in humans, which contributes to adrenosterone's androgenic effects. It is proposed that adrenosterone may function as an inhibitor of the 11beta-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase type 1 enzyme (11beta-HSD1), which is primarily responsible for reactivation of cortisol from cortisone.
