Echinatin is a component of Glycyrrhiza echinata, which have been used for years in Chinese traditional medicine. It displays antioxidant properties and anti-inflammatory activities. Echinatin exerts a protective effect against I/R-induced myocardial injury on hearts (as shown on the isolated rat hearts).
