Talmetacin is a cyclo-oxygenase inhibitor that was studied as an analgesic and antipyretic agent. This drug was studied in Argentina in patients with rheumatic disorders. However, further development of talmetacin is not available.

METHYLPARABEN SUBEROHYDROXAMIC ACID PHENYL ESTER (more known as Remetinostat), a histone deacetylase (HDAC) inhibitor, was developed for the treatment of cutaneous T cell lymphoma (CTCL). This drug is participating in phase II clinical trial to evaluate the efficacy, safety, and tolerability to skin lesions in patients with early-stage cutaneous T-cell lymphoma. In May 2019 was announced the positive results from phase II trial of remetinostat in basal cell carcinoma (BCC) patients. Initial results suggest that remetinostat gel offers a potentially effective and well-tolerated, non-surgical intervention for the treatment of localized BCCs. The unique design of remetinostat enables topical application, making it active only in the skin. As soon as it reaches the blood stream, it is degraded, avoiding the side effects associated with other HDAC inhibitors. Besides, remetinostat was studied as the treatment of plaque psoriasis; however, this study was discontinued.

Alletorphine (R & S 218-M) is a potent analgesic said to have a reduced respiratory depressant action. It was isolated by Bentley and Hardy (1967) while they were examining a series of derivatives of tetrahydrothebaine of which the potent analgesic etorphine (propylorvinolhydrochloride: M99 Reckitt) is a member. R&S 218-M bears the same relationship to etorphine as does nalorphine to morphine. It has been the subject of experiments in animals and human volunteers.

Amibegron (SR 58611A or SR 58611) is a highly selective agonist for atypical beta3-adrenoceptors. It stimulates neuronal activity in a specific area of the prefrontal cortex and also inhibits intestinal motility. Amibegron was in phase III trials worldwide for the treatment of depression and generalised anxiety disorder but development of the product was discontinued in 2008. Amibegron has been tested for its potential as a treatment for irritable bowel syndrome.

D-glucitol hexanicotinate (sorbinicate, SN) is a derivative of nicotinic acid. In rabbits kept on a diet containing 1 g/day cholesterol for 12 weeks, sorbinicate displayed greater hypolipemic and antiatherogenic activity than an equidose of plain nicotinic acid at much lower and more constant plasma nicotinic acid levels. By modulating the bioavailability of nicotinic acid, sorbinicate maintains and in some cases enhances the pharmacological activity of the acid, avoiding at least some of its major side effects. Sorbinicate has effective lipid-lowering activity; the combination of hypolipidemic and anti-aggregating properties may prove important in primary and secondary prevention of atherosclerotic disease. It is suggested that the antilipolytic activity of sorbinicate is at least partly mediated by an inhibition of glucagon secretion (and/or synthesis).

Neboglamine is a functional modulator of the glycine site on the N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) receptor. Neboglamine appeared to promote neuronal growth as measured by expression of Fos-like immunoreactivity, particularly in the prefrontal cortex, nucleus accumbens, and lateral septal nucleus. Neboglamine behaves as a potential antipsychotic. Neboglamine is in phase II clinical trials by Rottapharm for the treatment of schizophrenia and cocaine abuse.

Mecrylate (metyl 2-cyanoacrylate) ) is a clear,
colorless liquid with a strong, acrid odor. In contact with hydroxide ions (liquids like blood or water, air humidity), the cyanoacrylates form long, strong and waterproof chains in an exothermic reaction. The resulting polymer leads to a stable adhesive bond. It may be used as tissue adhesive in surgery. Mecrylate is the first generation short-chain cyanoacrylate, it turned out to be histotoxic and caused distinct foreign-body reactions.

Etazolate (EHT-0202) is a selective, positive GABAA receptor modulator has completed phase II clinical trials in patients with Alzheimer's disease. It is also a selective phosphodiesterase-4 inhibitor that is specific for cAMP. Etazolate showed anxiolytic and antidepressant activity and could be useful in managing post-traumatic stress disorder.
