Perflenapent (EchoGen, Sonus Pharmaceuticals, Bothel, WA, USA) is a transpulmonary echocardiographic contrast agent for use in patients with suspected or established cardiovascular disease to provide opacification of cardiac chambers, enhance left ventricular border delineation with resulting improvement in wall motion visualisation. EchoGen comprises liquid droplets of dodecafluoropentane stabilised by polyfluoroalkyl(polyoxyethylene) ethanol and dispersed in an aqueous formulation containing sucrose. Dodecafluoropentane is the chemical name used to reflect the perflenapent/perflisopent mixture. Following activation and administration of EchoGen, dodecafluoropentane microbubbles are formed. EchoGen should only be used in patients where the study without contrast enhancement is inconclusive. The European Commission has approved SONUS Pharmaceuticals' EchoGen (perflenapent emulsion) in all 15 countries of the European Union. EchoGen is a fluorocarbon-based ultrasound contrast agent which has been approved as a transpulmonary echocardiographic contrast agent for use in patients with suspected or established cardiovascular disease who have had previous inconclusive non-contrast studies. Additional approved labeling in the EU states that the use of EchoGen in spectral and color Doppler studies was shown to enhance the visualization of blood flow across mitral, aortic and tricuspid valves in a subset of patients. In 2000 SONUS Pharmaceuticals withdrew the NDA for EchoGen in the USA.

Bilirubin is an orange-yellow pigment made during the normal breakdown of red blood cells. Bilirubin passes through the liver and is excreted out of the body. Occasionally, higher bilirubin levels may indicate an increased rate of destruction of red blood cells (hemolysis). A high level of bilirubin in the blood is called hyperbilirubinemia. High bilirubin levels can cause jaundice. Jaundice makes the skin and the whites of the eyes appear yellow, due to the brown and yellow bilirubin in the blood. Phototherapy for neonatal is one of the treatment methods against hyperbilirubinemia. Light absorption by bilirubin in the skin transforms the native Z,Z-bilirubin to conformational photoisomers Z,E-bilirubin and E,Z-bilirubin and structural photoisomers E,Z-lumirubin and E,E-lumirubin. Formation and excretion of Z,E-bilirubin and E,Z-lumirubin are both important routes of elimination of bilirubin through bile and urine, although the precise contributions of the various photoisomers to the overall elimination of bilirubin are still unknown.

Icaridin, or picaridin, is a synthetic insect repellent in the piperidine chemical family. The chemical name is 1-piperidinecarboxylic acid 2-(2-hydroxyethyl)-1-methylpropylester. Icaridin is used against an array of insects, including mosquitos and biting flies, as well as ticks.
Diethyltoluamide (DEET) is an insect repellent used to keep insects away. This product is effective against mosquitoes, biting flies (gnats, sandflies, deer flies, stable flies, black flies), ticks, harvest mites, and fleas. DEET is absorbed through the skin. DEET has few adverse effects when applied as directed. The most common problem is local skin irritation, including erythema and pruritis, at the site of application.

Gamma-cyclodextrin is cycloamylose composed of eight alpha-(1-4) linked D-glucopyranose units and is formed by bacterial digestion of starch. Gamma-cyclodextrin is a hydrophilic molecule that does not readily permeate biological membranes and is rapidly digested by bacteria in the gastrointestinal tract. In humans, it is metabolized by α-amylase that is found in, for example, saliva, bile fluid, and tears. Gamma-cyclodextrin is generally recognized as safe by the FDA. It is used in bread spreads, frozen dairy desserts, ready-to-eat dairy desserts, desserts prepared from dry mixes, fruit fillings, cheese, and cream fillings, and chewing gum as a stabilizer, emulsifier, carrier and formulation aid at varying levels.
