SRT1720 is a small-molecule compound, which has the ability of activating the sirtuin subtype SIRT1. It’s not a direct activation. SRT1720 exhibits multiple off-target activities against receptors, enzymes, transporters, and ion channels. SRT1720 affects mitochondrial respiration in a Sirt1- and PGC-1α-dependent manner. SRT1720 has been demonstrated to enhance insulin sensitivity and improve measures of mitochondrial capacity and oxidative metabolism. SRT1720 also significantly inhibits VEGF-dependent multiple myeloma cell migration. SRT1720 is an experimental drug that was studied by Sirtris Pharmaceuticals. At 2013 year, GlaxoSmithKline was closed down Cambridge, MA-based Sirtris Pharmaceuticals.

Dihydroferulic acid, also known as 3-(4-hydroxy-3-methoxyphenyl)propionic acid or dihydroconiferylate, is classified as a member of the phenylpropanoic acids. Phenylpropanoic acids are compounds with a structure containing a benzene ring conjugated to a propanoic acid. Dihydroferulic acid is an inhibitor of in vitro platelet activation. It also revealed high antioxidant activity.

O-Phthalaldehyde (OPA) is a chemical reagent that forms fluorescent conjugation products with primary amines. It is used for the detection of many biogenic amines, peptides, and proteins in nanogram quantities in body fluids. O-Phthalaldehyde is approved by FDA for use in test systems to detect blood urea nitrogen (BUN) for the diagnosis and
treatment of certain renal and metabolic diseases.
OPA is also a known desinfectant and has been approved for high-level sterilization of heat-sensitive medical instruments and is increasingly being used as a replacement in the healthcare industry for glutaraldehyde. OPA has also been approved for use as an indoor antimicrobial pesticide; an intermediate for the synthesis of pharmaceuticals, medicines, and other organic compounds.
