SULFACLOZINE is a competitive antagonist of para-aminobenzoic acid (PABA), a precursor of folic acid, in protozoa and bacteria. It is indicated for treatment of coccidiosis in poultry due to infection with Eimeria species, fowl typhoid due to infection with Salmonella gallinarum and fowl cholera due to infection with Pasteurella multocida. Adverse reactions are liver damage, allergic reactions. In poultry undesirable effects, as inappetence, diarrhoea, growth depression, or haemorrhages after administration of sulfaclozine are rare. Prolong use may cause crystal urea.

Poultry: Dissolve 1g Sulfaclozine (Sulfachloropyrazine) sodium monohydrate 30% per liter water. This provides approximately 50 mg active ingredient, or 170 mg Sulfaclozine (Sulfachloropyrazine) sodium monohydrate, per kg bodyweight. Treat for 3 consecutive days and repeat after a 2 days break if necessary (Shuttle programs like day 1, 3, 5, 7, 9 or 1, 2, 5, 6, 9 have also been found effective).
· For coccidiosis in chicken caused by E. tenella and E. necatrix doses of 1.5g to 2.0g are indicated (75-100 g in 50 liters of drinking water).
· For the treatment of cholera and typhoid, doses of 1 to 2 g Sulfaclozine (Sulfachloropyrazine) sodium monohydrate per liter water for at least 5 days are required.
Sheep and Goats: 120 mg Sulfaclozine per kg body weight (Dissolve a full sachet in 1 liter drinking water and administer 12 ml for each 10kg Body weight).
