INT-777 is a semisynthetic bile acid that acts as an agonist of a transmembrane G protein-coupled receptor, TGR5. The novel roles of TGR5 in different diseases make it become a new drug target. It was shown, that INT-777 stimulated insulin secretion in pancreatic β-cells, reduced inflammation and inhibited atherosclerosis in mice.

Sample Use Guides

C57BL/6J mice: INT-777 admixed at a dose of 30 mg/kg/day (mkd) with the diet in an intervention study in C57BL/6J mice in which diabesity was induced by HF feeding for 14 weeks.
Route of Administration: Oral
In Vitro Use Guide
Curator's Comment: In vitro, effects of TGR5 on hepatocytes were analyzed by TGR5 agonist (INT-777) and hypoxia/reoxygenation (H/R), which displayed that INT-777 markedly attenuated H/R-induced hepatocellular apoptosis.
