Description

1,1,1,3,3-Pentafluoropropane (or pentafluoropropane, or HFC-245fa), a chlorofluorocarbon substitute, is used primarily for spray foam insulation. Pentafluoropropane is metabolized in human with the formation of the minor, but highly toxic metabolite 3,3,3-trifluoropropanoic acid.
