Dioctyl Maleate (DOM) is a widely used chemical
intermediate and building block for several chemical
production processes. Besides its application in
chemical synthesis a major field of application for
DOM is within the coatings industry. Furthermore, DOM
is used as an phthalate-free alternative to common
phthalate based plasticizers like DOP. DOM can be useful as a skin-conditioning agent in products such as moisturizers, cleansers, and make-up. DOM can also be used in shampoos, conditioners, and styling aids.
